I looked out the glass windows of the cruise ship and saw a darkening navy sky, twinkling with stars. I could see a faint outline of a constellation drawn into the night, and spent the rest of the hour staring out wistfully. "What're you looking at?" asked a voice. Startled, I spun around to be blinded by a long mane of royal blue hair slapping onto my eyes. "The stars," I replied. "I see. The captain called us for dinner," Dawn said, edging towards the door. "Right," I released a breath and darted forward with my friend.
"Has anyone ever thought..." Ash chewed on his bread thoughtfully as he spoke. "Yes?" pressed Kiawe. "How fun it'll be?" Everyone fell on the ground anime-style. "Umm...duh? I'm pretty sure that's the point," emphasized Max. Ash scratched his head sheepishly and grinned. "I guess so," "But I agree. We're going to go to Mountain Lodge, this super famous hotel in Hoenn!" I brightened. "And before you ask, yes, there is a battlefield!" Ash cheered, his excitement causing him to fall out of his chair. "Still the same airhead!" scolded Misty. I noticed she looked a little green, and she was clutching at her stomach like she was about to be sick. "Speaking of airheads..." Drew shot a sideways glance at me as Ash picked himself up, and my bright blue eyes widened. "At least I'm not a grasshead!" I gasped furiously. "That makes Paul a what? Eggplant-head?" mused Dawn, and the whole table erupted with laughter. I looked at Misty again, whose face had turned the color of Drew's hair. "Are you okay?" I asked, concerned. She gave me a little smile. "Yep," she responded firmly. "Question: do you get seasick?" inquired Mallow. "Umm, yes," she admitted. Misty stood up, wobbled a little, and fell on the floor.
Brock was the first to leap out of his seat and help the redhead to her feet. "Maybe not," she murmured. "Here," Brock beamed at her charmingly. "Let me help," the two of them stumbled towards and out the door. "Cute..." said Drew slyly. "Shut up, grasshead!" I shrieked, standing up and hurling my shoe at him. The heels struck his cheek, and at the same moment, the floor shivered. "Whoa!" he yelled, tumbling in a heap onto the ground. "Rough weather, huh?" pondered Lillie. "No way," I skirted over to the window and saw the clear sky again. "Tonight's forecast is perfect!" "That was perfect aim," grumbled Drew. Embarrassment flushed my cheeks, and I ran to my boyfriend. A long line of blood traced his face, and his knee was bruised from his fall. "Sorry," I traced his scratch with a kiss and hugged his tall figure. He was almost the same height as Ash and towered over me. But that wasn't so hard, Misty and Dawn did as well. I noticed the bluenette hadn't touched her hearty meal.
"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked curiously. Dawn shoveled a forkful of salad into her mouth. "Of course! Just not the...carbs," she muttered. "You're totally skinny enough!" gasped Mallow. "If it's anyone, it's me who needs a diet!" "Nonsense!" huffed Lillie. I watched Kiawe, Calem, Clemont, Bonnie, Max, Cilan, and Drew scurry out of the room. "I'm going vegetarian! Meat is way too fat," claimed Serena. "Come on! Just enjoy this trip!" Iris pleaded. Ash watched, bewildered. "Girls are so odd," he groaned. We ran to him and loomed above his eating form. "You're going to get incredibly chubby, Ash Ketchum!" I threatened. "So?" "So?" shrieked Serena. "Nobody will want to date you!" "I don't want to date anyone," he looked oblivious to Dawn's slightly crestfallen look. I moved closer to her and wrapped my arm around hers. "He'll come around," I whispered consolingly. "I hope so," she gulped quietly, her glowing eyes never leaving the gaze of her former traveling companion. Was that wait long? Hope you liked it! This chapter was basically just to introduce the personalities of the main characters. Please note that the weight discussion was just to lead up to the one about Ash not wanting to date anyone, not to be rude or mean to anyone who interpreted it that way. Thank you!
