"Y/N, you're getting much better at this," The white hair male called over to you as you pulled your hair back into a ponytail. It had gotten quite long compared to it's length when Akaza had first cut it.
"You have only been here for a few months, yet you might be the best candidate for my predecessor." He snickered, tossing you a practice blade which you promptly caught.
You paused, had it really been that long since you went looking for Akaza? You couldn't help but feel out of place here, you weren't like them. You didn't care for humanity. Everyday you trained with Fuyuhito you felt as though you were cheating the man who saved you.
" Akatsuki San!!!!"
You turned your head, blinking out of your daze as you were met with Noboru, who hugged your waist tightly.
"Pff- you're back from your mission, Noboru bozu?" You snorted. You had to admit, it felt nice to have affection people around you.
"Yes, I apologize for interrupting your training, but I need to speak with you." He had a sort of intensity to his eyes that meant business.
You nodded slowly, glancing over at the Ice pillar who gave you the okay to run off with the young slayer.
You were lead out of the courtyard and to a corner in the estate to speak privately with the boy. "Y/N san... when I look at people, I see waves of colors around them. With demons and their presence, the colors are muddy and red. When I first saw you, your colors were stained red," Noboru murmured, looking at his hands before snapping his gaze up to your face, "but recently they've been blue with pinks, reds, and black. Akatsuki san, I'm worried about you. I haven't seen such a mix of emotions before."
You were frozen in place, "what do those colors mean?" You asked quietly.
"Regret, longing, sadness, guilt, anger, heartache, " the boy rambled. "The muddiness of the colors lead me to believe it's connected to a demon-"
As he said demon, the sound of a crow could be heard, "Fuyuhito, report to the nearest forest in the East. A demon lurks there! Bring three others!" It cawed, over and over.
The ice pillar came down the hall, pulling his haori on as he approached you both. "Akatsuki, Eguchi, accompany me and Moriyama on this mission." He said quietly.
"Yes, Yuki san" Norboru bowed, but you were reluctant.
"Yuki kun, I'm not a slayer. " you said quietly. He clasped a hand on your shoulder.
"Y/N, you have survived countless demons before training under me. Just think of it as field training. " he smiled at you as you puffed your cheeks up, making them go rosy.
"Okay," you exhaled, straightening up.
"Right, we leave in five minutes, take my spare blade, Akatsuki. "
-
It was a month ago when Akaza returned to the dojo.
"Y/N, I'm back," he said softly, carrying a bundle of irises, one for everyday he had been away from you. "I'm sorry I took so long, I had a lot of work to do....."
He trailed off. The lack of response was concerning. The lack of anything at all was concerning. He couldn't hear your breathing, nor footsteps. He placed the irises down carefully, in case you were here.
"Y/N?! AKATSUKI Y/N?!" He ran from room to room, but found nothing but a letter.
He ripped it open and read your words;
'Dear Akaza kun,
If you are reading this, You have returned to the Dojo before I've found you. I apologize for being impatient! I went to the place where I knew irises grew, or I tried to go there. Hopefully, I have not died, or gotten completely turned around. But I wish to see you soon.
Sincerely,
