Emma's POV

My heart and emotions are racing as I run after the servant woman. She's fast. I can give that for sure. "Stop running and I'll go easy on you." I lie trying to get through to her. "I can't do that." She says throwing a plant in front of me making me fall. My face slams into the ground causing blood to pour from my nose. If it were possible you'd be able to see the steam coming from my head. "That's it!" I yell getting back up to go after her. When I get my hands on her she's going to wish she was never born.

She runs across the courtyard still trying to get away. I'm not running anymore now I'm walking to her. I throw a dagger at her leg making her fall to the ground. "Ahh fuck!" The woman screams in pain. I walk up to her and grab her by the throat. "Why have you tried to kill the senator?" I question her. She tries to wiggle out of my grasps but I have a firm grip on her. She's not getting away from me, not until I get answers. After that, she's the government's problem. "I'm going to ask you again. Why did you try to kill the senator?" I demand.

"I was hired to do it. I have nothing against Senator Mills. The money was all I was after." She explains as she gasps for air. "Who hired?" I ask. She just stares at me and claws at my hand on her throat. "Tell me now!" I yell. "He'll kill me if I tell you who he is." She pleads. "If you don't tell me who hired you I'll make you wish for death." I threaten. "Ok, ok his name is-."

"Swan what did I tell you!" Mulan yells, pulling my attention away from the culprit.

"Not now Mulan!" I hear a sharp yell and gargling shortly after. When I turned back to the woman she had slit her throat with my dagger that was in her leg. "Nooo!" Damn it I was so close to getting an answer from her. I get up and stump over to Mulan ready to knock her on her ass. "What the fuck was that for? She was about to give me an answer. What the fuck is wrong with you!" I yell in her face.

"Watch your tone with me, Swan. Don't forget that you're still my apprentice," Mulan says crossing her arms. "We just lost valuable information because of you. This whole thing could've been over if it wasn't for you getting in my way." I say frustratedly. This isn't the first time she's gotten in my way and cost us something on a mission before. "I told you to wait for me and to not dive in headfirst into something. And what did you do? Exactly what I told you not to do as always. She could've killed you, Swan. Don't you get that?" Mulan asks. "I get that you just made us take a huge step back in this mission. I'm going to bed this discussion with you isn't going to do anything."

I storm off and go to the room that was set up for my stay during the mission. As soon as I get in I slam the door making it crack. All of the anger that I wanted to use on Mulan just poured out of me. I started throwing things and destroying the whole room. My blood was boiling as I started to get angrier and angrier.

A knock on my door stopped me in my tracks. I open it and it's Regina with a worried look on her face. "What do you want Regina?" I ask harshly. "I just wanted to check on you. I'm sorry that I got Mulan but I thought it was the right thing to do." Regina explained. "Well, it wasn't the right thing to do. I had her right where I wanted her. Then Mulan came and messed it up. Just like she always does."  I grumble.

"Emma you could've gotten hurt out there. Who knows what that woman could've done to you. You could've gotten stabbed or worse." Regina explained. "If that was going to be the price of finding out the person who's trying to hurt you. Then I'd pay it as many times as I need to." I say to her. "No Emma that's not right and you know it. Maybe we should just stay professional friends. It'll be a lot safer if we just do that." Regina says looking down at the floor.

Her words felt like a sharp hot blade was going through my chest. I almost fell to my knees from sadness and hurt. "Leave," I say quietly. "Emma please let me explain." She pleads. "I said get out!" I yell, kicking a bucket across the room.

"Emma, can we at least talk about it some more."

"Goodnight...Senator."
