Chapter 10

Regina's POV

As I opened my eyes my ears were ringing and there was debris everywhere. The room was covered in ash as it fell from the sky. I felt something wet on my hand. When I looked down it was covered in my blood. I wasn't in any pain though. In fact, I didn't feel anything. Well except fear but not fear for me. Fear for Emma, I don't know where she is or if she's hurt. For all, I know she could be dead. God, I hope that's not the case.

I get up and start wandering around the room. For what reason, I have no clue I just do. Everything is slowed down as I look at people screaming and covered in blood. Their screams were muffled but I could still feel its impact. The room looked like what I imagine a warzone would look like. Why would anyone want to do this to people? All this carnage just to get one person. Someone touches my shoulder and I see it's Emma. She's saying something but I can't hear her. She has tears running down her face as she tries to look at my wound. Then everything goes black.

A few days later

"She needs to be somewhere else Mulan. Regina can't stay here anymore."

"That decision isn't up to us Emma."

"Our mission is to protect her and find out who's trying to kill her. And right now we're flogging a dead horse."

I open my eyes to see Emma and Mulan arguing. Not very surprising but it's also not something I want to wake up to. "Would you two stop fighting for one second," I mumble. Their heads turn to me and Emma's face illuminates. "Reg- I mean Senator you're awake," Emma says excitedly. Mulan gives Emma a dour look making her tone down her emotions. "How long was I out?" I ask.

A few days, you got pretty hurt during the bombing. You lost a lot of blood. We were afraid you might not have made it through. If it wasn't for Emma you'd probably be dead right now." Mulan explained. I looked at Emma who had her head down. "Thank you, Emma. I'm glad you were there to save me. There's no way I could ever repay you." I said, giving her a blissful smile. "It was no problem Senator. Protecting you is my job and I'm just trying to do my best." Emma says, giving me a weak smile.

"So what were you two arguing about this time?" I ask trying to change the mood. "I suggest to Mulan that we take you out of the Enchanted Forest district and house you somewhere else for a little while," Emma explains. "But I feel that it's an unnecessary thing to do," Mulan argues with Emma's statement. "It's completely necessary, the senator is in danger. And I hate to say it but she's also becoming a danger to people around her. That bombing would have never happened if Regina wasn't a target." Emma rebuttals.

They went back and forth a couple more times before I couldn't take it anymore. "Enough you two the decision is mine to make. I agree with Emma, I have become a danger to the people around me." I say silencing them. "Where would you go, Regina? We can't let you go somewhere by yourself." Mulan argues. "She won't be by herself. Senator Mills will be with me. I'll be her protector and you'll keep investigating here as you have been." Says Emma.

"I have a secret palace in Camelot that we could go to. Only a few of my closest staff know about it. If someone finds us then we'll know whose behind my assassination attempts." I say trying to win Mulan over. "Fine you can go but I want daily updates on what's going on," Mulan says sternly. They both walk out and I get Ruby to help me get all of my things together.

"So you and Emma will be alone." She smirks. I let out a chuckle and put a lock of my hair behind my ear. "That is correct," I say blushing. "This is your chance to get her senator." Ruby smiles. I stop folding my clothes and look at her. "I can't it's against the rules for Emma to be in love let alone be in a relationship with someone. Plus I told her that we should stay professional friends." I explain to Ruby. "Keep word should that doesn't mean that you have to. C'mon Senator, I know you've been saving yourself for her. You don't want anyone else but Emma. Don't deny yourself that." Ruby says taking my hand. "If it were only that simple.

Once we were finished Emma came in with her stuff already and packed. "Are you ready to go Senator Mills?" She asked. "Yes, I am," I answer. Ruby pulls me into a tight hug and moves to my ear. "You know what you have to do Regina don't lose your chance with her." Ruby whispers. I nod my head and walk over to Emma. "Let's get this show on the road," I say to Emma. I snap my finger and we teleport to the front of the Camelot castle. "This place is astonishing," Emma says in awe.

"Welcome to Camelot Emma, Welcome to Camelot."
