Chapter 6 - 𝑊ℎ𝑦 𝑆ℎ𝑢𝑖𝑐ℎ𝑖..?

(It's only going to be a movie that Kokichi and Y/N watch, so don't worry for those who are into this story)

After, me and Kokichi walked to my house since he insisted that we go to mine's. But honestly, whenever I look at him, he looks a bit stressed so I hope that this sleepover would get his mind off things.

We arrived at my house, I unlocked the door for him and let him go in first since he is a guest after all, but he is also my friend. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I yelled but not that loud. I looked around while Kokichi sat on the couch, I looked at the dinning table that was close to the entry of my house and there was a note. Most likely, it was something about them leaving town or something for the holidays.

I don't blame them for leaving me alone for a while because I always insist that they go alone because I feel like I'll ruin everything, even though I'm their child but they're also still a couple. After reading the note I told Kokichi, "Looks like we have the house to ourselves." Looking up from the note with a smile.

I mean I guess there's a better chance for Kokichi to relieve stress in this sleepover. He smiled back at me. "So, what do you want to do?" I asked him curiously. "First, I was t-thinking of maybe w-watching a holiday m-movie.. Then m-maybe have fun for the r-rest of the night? I can probably d-do your hair..?" He told me. I would honestly love to see how he'll do my hair but I have to be patient. Anyways, seeing a Christmas movie isn't all that bad. I sat next to him on the couch in the living room and turned on the T.V to see all the holiday movies available. I kept pressing right because none of the movies looked interesting to me until the speed went faster then, "W-Wait! Go back!" I kept pressing left until Kokichi told me to stop. Wait.. this movie looks interesting.. I looked at the details of the movie and it said '• Romance, • Emotional, • Drama'. Kokichi has a good eye for these kind of movies. I then pressed 'Play'.

Two hours later and it had both of us sobbing. I'm sure I look very pathetic right now but it was too sad! That guy she loved sacrificed his life for her since she was depressed for most of her life and she was going to take her life on Christmas when her beloved saved her!

I got up to go get tissues and headed back to Kokichi with them to wipe our tears even though it was still noticeable with our red, puffy eyes. "T-That... seriously is e-enough with... w-watching m-movies..." He told me. I actually agree with him, I can't take anymore of these movies. I then said to him, "W-Want to do e-each other's h-hair now?" Still sobbing from the movie. He nodded then I got up and headed to the bathroom near by to wash my face to make it less noticeable. Once I got out, he went into the bathroom to do the same.

I went upstairs to my room to prepare our own 'salon' for each other. I got out some hair clips, hair ties, hair straightener, hair curler, a brush, and a spray for water. It didn't take long for Kokichi to come up to my room. His eyes widen when he came in my room. "Sorry.. is it too much..?" I asked him. "N-No, it's just t-that.. this i-is better than a real s-salon!" He told me amazed at all the equipment I had and my setup. My worried expression turned into a smiled.

He then sat down in front of me when finished setting it up. I picked up my hair straightener curiously on how his hair would look like straighten. I put his hair in the straightener and slowly went down with it worriedly to not burn his skin by accident.

It took not that long until I finished with it and then I started braiding it into one. It was a bit sloppy since I never really did it to anyone but it was still good. Once I was finished, I picked up some cute hair clips and put it into his braid and then it was done. I'm actually proud of it though, it's kind of weird seeing Kokichi like this since his hair was curled slightly. When he got up and looked into the mirror he smiled. "You did a g-good job Y/N!" He told me. I took the compliment to heart and smiled.

He yawned and looked at the clock then frowned, "S-Sorry Y/N I won't be able to do yours s-since I'm tired and I can get a b-bit sloppy when I am..." Even though I was excited to seeing how he'll do my hair I can't get mad at him either way, it is a school night also so I'll just let the day end here. I nodded and picked everything up and then I put it away.

I got his bed ready so he can sleep too, then I realized he need pajamas. I went through my drawer to see if anything could be comfy enough for him. I handed him a white T-shirt with some random pajama pants. He thanked me and headed to the nearest bathroom to my room then changed and while he did, I did. I gladly got finished changing fast just in case Kokichi didn't walk in at me changing my clothes. Soon enough, he came in with a change of clothes and folded his next to his bed and I did the same. I turned off the light and went back to my bed next to Kokichi's. "Goodnight Kokichi, I had lots of fun today even though it was a short day." I told him before sleeping. "Good Y/N, and I-I did too." He told me before falling asleep while saying his sentence to me. I guess he really was that tired even when it's barely 8:00.

The next day I woke up 20 minutes before school starts. I looked next to me to find Kokichi not there, he must've went to school early. I got ready and headed towards school.

I saw Kokichi next to Shuichi which he's with Kaede again. I didn't want to disturb their conversation even though Kaede didn't seem interested in it and was on her phone. Even so, I walked more ahead until I heard Shuichi's voice again from their talk. It sounded like he wanted to tell her something. Of course, curiosity took the best of me. I eavesdropping their conversation...

"Hey K-Kaede?"

"Hm?"

"T-There's something I've been w-wanting to tell you.."

"And what's that?"

There stood a moment of quietness.

"I-I... I actually h-have a.. c-c-crush on y-you.."

He told her that with a smile from him barely peeking from his hat. She looked up from her phone and stared at him. After a moment of staring, she giggled, then that giggle turned into a laugh.

"The only reason why I talked to you was because you never left me alone! So that doesn't mean that you can just have a crush on me!"

She then rolled her eyes and probably left to class or the bathroom. Shuichi stood there with Kokichi next to him trying to comfort him from the rejection. After probably two or one minutes passed, Shuichi put his hands on Kokichi's shoulders.

"It's alright, Kokichi."

Then he walked over to where I was and I pretended like I didn't hear a thing. He walked passed me.

He didn't have a sad nor mad expression...

He

was

just

smiling..

Having that despairing look in his eyes again.

Why Shuichi?

Why'd you confess when you know you'll get rejected..?
