Nightly Fervor

97 16 18

The ink velvet gown,
studded with sparkling diamonds-
Shimmer in the crystal moonlight,
I gaze at the goddess of the night,
Gracing this beauty of the sky--

The soft breeze caresses my skin,
Like a gentle wisp of sugary breath-
I revel in the ocean of black,
Oh! if I could only freeze
This moment of butterfly ecstasy--

The shooting star pierces
through the raven robe,
Like a sharp, burning arrow
Announcing the arrival of a brighter 'morrow!
I wish upon a star: hurtle away the sorrow--

The moon smiles down,
At the white owl acknowledging my dream,
I feel complete; I feel empty,
A cold that is so heart-warming
I feel heavy; I've never felt so light before--
I want nothing, yet more...

This sliver of silver luminescence,
Coupled with the nightly fervour of the superior sense
Helps my soul awaken
In my eyes, my gaze, my heart and the mirror
I find true transcendence.
