Sunshine's POV

"Hoy! Shine! Ampangit pangit mo. Alam mo yun?", sabi ng kaklase ko. I nodded.

I'm here in our classroom. Hearing every words they say. Naka-trintas nanaman ako, na tinali ko mag-isa.

"I know", i smiled at her.

"Nakakainis ka. 'Wag ka ngang ngumiti!", inis na sabi niya. Nginitian ko siya ng malawak.

"AAAAHH!!!", sigaw niya at tumakbo paalis. Ganyan lagi ang reaction nila kapag ngumi-ngiti ako. Nakakainis daw.

"Don't mind them. You're beautiful. Your smile is the most beautiful smile i have ever seen", Night, my bestfriend.

"Thank you for cheering me up, Night", i said. I'm tired of hearing those words. I know i'm ugly, kailangan ba talagang isampal sa pag-mumukha ko?

I'm tired.

"Hey.. cheer up. I'm here", he said so i smiled.

"Thank you.. so much", sabi ko at yumuko. I'm tired of his words. He always cheer me up, but i can't.

"You always shine, Sunshine. Don't think negative", he said. It somehow made me feel fine.

"Thank you..", sabi ko. Paulit-ulit ako.

"I'm always here, Sunshine", i said.

"I know.. please don't leave me how my father left me..", i whispered. Enough for him to hear.

"I won't, i promise", he said. But, promises are meant to be broken.. hindi lahat, but.. it felt uneven.

"Sana nga at totoo..", bulong ko na hindi niya narinig.

"Don't listen..", he said. But, i can't.

"You're ugly! Useless child! Hindi na pala dapat kita niluwal!", she said.

"Regrets, Ma. I'm sorry", i said and smiled.

"Tangina ka! Sumasagot ka pa!", sigaw niya at sinampal ako. Ngumiti lang ako.

"Salamat sa pag-luwaw sa akin, Mama", sabi ko at nginitian si Mama.

"Useless! Mag-laba ka! Mag-luto ka na rin! Bilis!", sigaw niya na agad kong ginawa at ngumiti.

I got this.

"Kita tayo sa bar mamaya ha girl?", Paula said. I nodded.

"Bye na", sabi nito. This is the only way to cheer myself up.

May tumatawag sa phone ko.

"Hell-"

[Shine! Thank God you answered. Where the hell are you going? Bar? No way, Shine. Paano kung malasing ka?]

"I know how to control myself, Night"

[Still. What if something bad happen?]

"Nothing will happen to me, Night. Don't worry"

[Hindi pa nga ako nakaka-amin tas may mangyayari]

"What are you saying?"

[Nothing. Take care of yourself]

"Thank you, Night"

He ended the call. Tinali ko ang buhok ko ng trintas. There.

Pumunta na ako sa bar. Here she is. Paula.

"Girl! Here", inabot niya sa akin ang isang baso ng kung ano.

Kanina pa kami umiinom at parang may nilagay siya sa inumin na ito.

"HAHAHAHAHHA! Dizzy? Sleep", she said.

"I will make you suffer for being happy", she whispered.

We're in a room.

"Papaiyakin muna kita bago kita patayin", sabi niya.

"Anong ginawa ko sayo para gawin mo 'to?", tanong ko sa kanya.

"You stole my bestfriend. Night. Ako dapat ang mahal niya hindi ikaw!", sigaw niya.

"Pakasaya ka muna bago kita patayin", she said.

May tinawagan siya.

[Hello?]

"Night!", sigaw ko.

[Shine? Where the fuck are you? I'm so worried]

"Sabihin mo na gusto mong sabihin dahil papasabugin ko na ang babaeng 'to", sabi ni Paula sa kanya.

[Leave her alone!]

"Time is ticking, Night."

[Shine. Stay there. I'll find you. Where are you]

"Quiet", bulong ni Paula sa akin at tinutukan ako ng baril.

[S-shine.. i love you.. since day one. I love you.. please don't leave me..]

"I love you, too, Night.. I'm sorry i have to leave you", i said. My tears fell.

[Don't leave me, Shine]

"Is that it? I can kill you now", sabi ni Paula. Ngumiti ako.

"End me, now", i said and smiled.

[No! Shine, no! Don't leave me! Shine!]

"I'm sorry, Night.. You will forever be the darkest night who cheers me up when i'm sad. You will always be in my heart. I love you", i said.

Pumikit ako.

[Shine! No! Please... don't leave me..]

"I will always shine in the darkest days. That's what you said. So, now.. i will shine", sabi ko at ngumiti ng malawak kay Paula.

"Your smile irritates me!", she said at binaril ako sa puso.

[NO! SHINE! NO DON'T LEAVE ME! SHINE! PLEASE!]

"I'm s-sorry..", i smiled even though i'm crying.

"Bye bye, Shine", she said at binaril uli ako sa puso.

"I-i will a-always s-shine..", i whispered.

"SHINE!", he shouted.

"You're late, Night", sabi ni Paula.

Nandidilim na ang paningin ko as if lumilindol.

"D-don't leave me, Shine, please...", he whispered.

"S-sorry..", i said.

"I will always love you, Shine.. You will always shine", he said. I smiled.

"I-i w-will a-always s-shine... I l-love y-you, Night..", i whispered.

I will always shine in the darkest days, like my name.

Then, everything went black.
