“Ang ganda-ganda talaga ng anak namin. Diba love?”

Dad had always been vocal about his love for me and mom. I dream that someday, I would find a man like dad.

“Mom, dad, alis na po ako” Paalam ko sakanila. I’m sure Chase wouldn’t fetch me here.

“Ingat ka princess. Hindi ka ba susunduin ni Chase?” Of course, alam ni mom na inaya ako ni Chase.

“Sabi ko po sakanya na doon na lang kami magkita” They both nodded.

Nagpahatid ako kay Kuya Ruwel papuntang school. I arrived there and the program has already started. I am wearing a red gown that covers my body. From the neck to the feet. My sleeves reach my wrist.

“O to the M to the G! Savannah is here!” I looked for the owner of the voice and I was right, it was Diarra.

“Hi D!” I greeted her. They hugged me and we proceeded to the venue. I don’t mind not having a pair but Chase actually asked me in front of half the school’s population so, I expect they are waiting for Chase to be with me in the table. Their stares are telling me so.

The party went forth and Chase didn’t show up.

“Savi, you should enjoy the party! Don’t mind that Sacramiento” Gabby told me and all I could do let out a sigh.

“Now, it’s time for our dance! Go get you partner and share the song of love with them!” The emcee announced. My friends left the table since their partners asked them to dance. I was left here all alone, drinking juice and eating brownies.

‘They’re so perfect naman’
‘I didn’t expect her to be here’
‘Para silang royalty talaga’
‘They’re so bagay to each other’
‘Paano naman si Savannah?’ That caught my attention. I settled my attention to the dance floor and saw the spotlight shedding its light to a direction. Everyone seemed to stopped dancing and just watch the pair dance. I walk my way through them and found myself closing my eyes to prevent the tears from falling.

I should have seen this coming.  I felt hands rubbing my back.

“Savi, huwag mo na i-pay attention yan. Let’s go back to our table” It was my friends.

Though I am already at the table, I still couldn’t get over the scene I’ve witnessed.

It was Chase with Sera. They’re dancing like they own the world. Their smiles and eyes speak to one another. They body closed to each other following the music that was meant for them. The love can be seen crystal clear. It’s like taken out of a movie.

They really are perfect for each other. I was just there to ruin the picture.
