Chapter 2
I run to math class thinking of a excuse for being late. I open the door and see the mystery guy that helped me earlier.

"Miss. Grayson your late.. Again" i could tell he wasn't happy with me from the look on his face.

"Take a seat Miss. Grayson I will see you after class."
As I take my seat I see the boy the helped me earlier with the spilt coffee.

He's probably new, oh I should thank him after class, for helping me. Ugh wait stupid Mr. Ale is making me stay to 'talk' after class a.k.a give me a detention.

This was only the 4th or 5th time I was late for his class. He needs a chill pill.

After the longest 45 minutes of my life I stop at Mr. Ales desk.
"You wanted to talk to me." I says looking at my nails.
"Yes, this was your 8th time being late for my class."
"And the problem is what exactly." I say still not looking at him.
"Avery, you have detention and if your late again I will have to contact your parents."
My head starts yelling alert when I hear the words contact and parents.
"Wait, what, no no no that won't be necessary sir."
"Ok well you better not be late again, now go to your second class." He says shooing me off.

I walk out of the class and I see the  new kid. Should I say thank you now or later.

"Hey wait up." As I say the bunch of people look back at me. But the one person I wanted to talk to didn't.
"Hey new kid." He turns around. I run up to him.
"I never got to thank you for earlier, so thanks for helping me."
"Um your welcome." He said scratching the back of his head. Does he not want to talk to me, am I making him feel uncomfortable?
"What's your name?"
"Jake Avi,you"
"Avery Grayson"
"Cool well I'll see you around" and he just walks away.
Hm does he not like me?

"Hey,"Maddie yells across the cafeteria oh
"hey Maddie."
I make my way over to our small group of friends.
"So I heard there was this cute kid in your math class."
"Yeah I guess he's cute."
"Spill"
"What my water"
"No the details about this kid." She says leaving in.
"His name is Jake. He helped me clean up some spilled coffee and that's all I know."

"Hey Avery do you want a ride home or not" Maddie asks me wile she packs her backpack.

"No I'm fine I think I'll just walk like it's only 25 min walk."

"Ok then text me if you wanna hang later ok."
"Yeah sure Maddie."

I grabbed my stuff and started to walk out the door when a familiar voice said hey. I turned around
"Are you talking to me? "

"Yeah I only talk to the prettiest of girls."

My cheeks start to burn oh no I'm blushing in my head I am yelling stop.

"Sorry for earlier I'm just new and I'm really shy, and I really don't want the popular girl to hate me at this school." He chuckles.

I just stare at him." Me popular" and then I burt into laughter.

"Yeah your pretty and nice so I would assume your popular" he chuckles

"1 I'm the nerdy and I have like one friend. 2 I don't dress like a popular person " I say pointing to my outfit.
"Well yeah I guess" he shrugs."I just wanted to say sorry for running away and stuff but I'll see you tomorrow. " he was waving bye.

"Bye" I say with a little squeal. He called me pretty. I have to tell Maddie!

I call Maddie to tell her what just happened.

"Hey girl so do you wanna hang out today."

"Ya come over my house right now like right now. "

"Avery why are you so exited calm down I'll be there in 5. "

"Ok hurry Maddie." I say a little to excited.

I run to my house as fast as I can to try and beat Maddie there. I get home and try and think what I am going to tell Maddie.

I get there and run up to my room and see Maddie sitting on my bed.
"Hey Maddie."
"Avery tell me the news like now!"
"Ok,ok so you know Jake?"
"Yes.."
"He came up to me at the end of the day and he might have called me pretty. I know I'm over exaggerating but what ever."

"Jake, called you pretty..."

"Yeh"

"Ahhhh omg I'm already planing the wedding. I'm gonna be your maid of honor. It's gonna be great."

"Maddie calm down he just called me pretty." I say with a laugh at the end.

"Don't ruin my moment Avery!"

I laugh"ok what ever."
