"Hey, Kazuma, you look so pale. Are you alright?"

I looked around. And again, there's Megumin and Aqua. Nothing changed.

"You know what, I'm gonna order for you..."

"Oh, server~ let me get another plate of fried frog legs."

As the lady hurried away to make the dish, I stared at Aqua with shock.

Huh, the Aqua I know sure is different.

"What you looking at me for?"

I must have stared at Aqua for too long. This is a common mistake of a virgin. Ha.

Aqua smirked and went back to ripping apart her meal.

My food came moments later.

I picked up a frog leg and waved it at Aqua, trying to get her attention.

"Hey, Aqua. Are you sure I can't return by death?"

Either Aqua was intentionally ignoring me or actually didn't heard what I said.

Instead, Megumin raised her head.

"Pretty sure you can't."

Then she went back to munching her food.

"You could."

I immediately look at Aqua.

She was still eating her food!

She can't be serious? Right?

"There is one way..."

Even Megumin had stopped and decide to tune in.

"I heard that from a faraway land... there lies a king..."

"Just get to the point!" I yelled.

"Okay, okay, I'm getting there. Jeez..."

She cleared her throat and continued.

"The demon king, Dakan."

I heard that name from Aqua once. He's like the last boss or something.

"He's super powerful and intelligence..."

No need to emphasize...

"Now, Kazuma. I know I said you have to defeat him and all, but it wasn't always like that."

"What are you guys talking about?"

Megumin was utterly lost.

"There was a more powerful entity before the demon king arrived."

No, please. Don't say I have to defeat whatever that thing is.

"It is-"

"~Your wine is here~."

Luna was carrying a tray full of red wine we had ordered a few minutes ago.

Aqua contentedly grab all of the wine and nudge her away.

"I'll tell you later."

I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. Back in my old world, my teacher told me that it's terrible to repress stress as it will get you back later on.

Should I tell everybody now that I can return by death?

"H-Hey, guys..."

Everybody stops and stares at me. Guess there is no turning back.

"I can return by d-"

Before I even finish, it almost seems like time had stopped right here and now—a dark purple mist shaped like a hand wrapped around my body. More specifically, my chest. Then I heard an eerie thumb on the table. This went on for about five seconds before I collapsed on the table, out of breath.
