"Alright Riley, from what you've told me it looks like you need some help that is a little bit above just a psych evaluation. I'm writing a prescription for the nurses to give you at med check up. You can go pick up and take your first dose when you get out of here. Nurse Kenny should be waiting for you just down the hall, you're free to go." Dr. Hardy finished speaking to Riley.
She looked around the room for a clock to see how long she had been in here, there wasn't one.
Come to think of it she hasn't seen a clock the whole time she's been in this place. She cleared her dry throat. "Dr.Hardy I don't think-"
"No. Riley you are in this hospital for a reason, it's my job to determine what treatment you need here so I suggest that you take my orders as I give them out and you get the help that we offer, we are basically your last chance at life considering your situation. Your time is up, now make your way to Kenny and she will show you the ways of our institution." he said harshly.
Riley sighed and stood up, the plastic underneath her breathed in relief. "Yes sir, thank you" she said so quietly that she could barely even hear herself. He nodded toward her and made a shooing motion with his hand.
I wonder what drugs he put me on. I didn't tell him anything about my hallucinations so it shouldn't be an anti-psychotic. If anything it's probably just an antidepressant which is something I need I guess. Still though aren't doctors supposed to tell you what they prescribe you?
Her reasonable voice interrupted her train of thought.
'He is a doctor and he is here to help you get better.'
She sighed heavily and felt her head fall a little as she walked towards the exit of this awkward and frightful situation. She was out in the hall again and saw nurse Kenny waiting for her at the end of the hall, just like she was before.
I have a bad feeling that I am going to be seeing a lot more of this scene in the near future.
For a second time she made it down the hallway she heard a soft buzzing sound rising in her eardrums. She stopped for a split second and she could feel her heartbeat in her head, gripped with fear and she couldn't move.
This, this hallway. It's familiar. This is the same hallway that I was running down in my dream when Melissa fucking drugged me. Even the air smells the same.
She turned around to look back at Dr. Hardys door, as she did the atmosphere around her turned dark and she was once again focused on the big doors separating her from the other side. Her breath crystallized in front of her nose as she breathed out the air she had been holding in for too long. Soft moans and groans came from behind the door, it sounded like someone was in pure agony, but without the strength to scream for help. She gazed at the door unable to be pulled away from its grasp. Her feet moved forward on their own, pulling her inch by inch to the doors.
She fought as much as she could, her feet dragged her until her nose was inches from the door, she could feel her warmth breath bounce back onto her face after it hit the wood. Her hand moved to the door handle once more and she felt her body push forward, causing the door to sigh against its hinges and give way to a completely different scene then she was just in. It was the hospital bed with the leather grips again.
Her heart pushed against her chest and it felt like she would have to leap forward to catch up with it. She couldn't though, because her feet were frozen to the hard wood beneath her. She looked at the ground and noticed it was the same hardwood flooring that was in Dr. Hardy's office. The only reason she noticed this was because she hadn't seen this floor pattern anywhere else in the hospital. Her feet slowly started to be absorbed by the ground, staring in horror at her legs as the ground slowly swallowed her up. It reached her knees before she snapped out of the pure shock and horror that she was living in. She reached out into the black veil of emptiness, all she could see was the hospital bed as she began to go deeper and deeper into the hardwood flooring. By the time it reached her torso she started panicking.
