Courtney's POV:
Another week has past and I went to go hang out with the boys, but it isn't the same. There's this tension everywhere and it's all because of Leigh. We were perfectly fine until she came into this. We used to be fucking friends! I don't get invited first over to their houses, I have to be like "oh hey can I come chill?" or something stupid like that. They won't come over to my house and don't come and hang out anymore. I have officially lost my best friends.
"Hey Courtney, there's someone downstairs for you." Rachel yells rudely up the stairs. I sit up from my bed and hop down the stairs and adjust my shorts. I open the door and see a familar brunette standing with her back turned towards me.
"Hey." I smiled and Marty turned around.
"Hey!" She smiles and hugs me. I laugh and hug her back.
"So... I have an idea." She smiles at me, her southern accent coating her words.
"What is this idea?" I ask and she smiles wider. I step aside and let her inside.
"How about you and me... go on an adventure throughout town? Show me around?" She asks smiling. I smile and agree. I grab my keys and follow her out of the house saying goodbye to Jill.
"So how have you been enjoying Omaha?" I ask and she shrugs.
"It's alright..." She shrugs and I laugh.
"It's so boring here." I add and she nods in agreement. We have small talk and pull up to the mall. I had grabbed my money aswell.
"What's Florida like?" I ask as we walk into the mall together.
"It's amazing. I love it there." She smiles and I do too, her smile is contagious.
"I'll have to visit one day." I smile and she nods.
"I'll try to take you one day." She adds and I smiled. We walked through the food court and to Forever 21. We walked around and bought a few shirts and shorts. We were laughing and making jokes as we walked around my phone rang and I saw that it was Johnson. I let it continue to ring and we went to the food court to get something to eat.
After we ate we went to Hollister. We were making each other laugh and were playing around that we didn't even realize that it was almost 5 pm by the time we were done. We decided to head back to our houses so she brought me home.
"Hey Courtney!" she calls as I almost make it to the door.
"Yeah?" I ask turning around. I'm caught off guard as she hugs me tightly.
"Thank you." She says into my hair and I laugh, I hug her back and her just as tight.
"No problem, thank you." I smile and she rubs my back in the hug.
"Hey, you wanna sleep over? I'm sure my parents won't mind." I smile and she nods. I laugh and she locks her car. I lead her up to my room and Rachel calls me down.
"Yes ma'am?" I ask leaning against the door way.
"I'm leaving, I'll be back tomorrow morning." She explains and I look at her confused.
"Why do I care?" I ask and she glares at me.
"Because you love me and want the best for me." She says like it was obvious.
"You're so far from being loved by me." I say and walk up the stairs. I see Marty looking around my room astonished.
"You like?" I ask laughing and she nods.
"Did you do this?" She asked and I step next to her looking at the chalk walls and the orange ones, looking at the lights and the drapes and smiled.
"Yep." I nod and she smiles.
"That's epic, you should come do my room." She laughs and I smile. I flop on my bed and she sits next to me. We have small talk for a while and she looks at the bracelet ripped, sitting on my counter top.
"What's that?" She asks and I follow her gaze. I look at the leather bracelet and gently grab it from the wooden counter. I ran my thumb over the intriquite work on it and looked at the familar "BEST FRIEND" engraved in the silver plaque. I spread the ripped leather ties and felt my heart beat increase and I shrugged looking away.
"It was my best friend bracelet, but my best friend hates me now, so I have no purpose for it now." I state and she pouts.
"Hey, how about we go play some basketball?" She asks changing the subject. I smile and slide the bracelet into my pocket and walked down stairs with her. I grabbed a gift box out of my mom's old craft room and a piece of paper.
"I'll be down in a second, the basketball's in the garage." I smile and she nods. She skips down the stairs and I write something on the paper and put it in the box. I slide the bracelet into the box and skip down the stairs. I grabbed something from my car and slide it into the box too. I run over to Gilinsky's house and place it in the door way. I come back over and see Marty confused and looking around the garage.
"Right here." I laugh and dribble the ball on the ground a couple times.
"Oh." She laughs and we walk out and start playing.
**
"No fair, you're too good at this." Marty whines.
"Practice makes perfect." I laugh and we walk inside.
"Where do I put this?" She asks standing at the front door.
"Here." I state and she tosses it to me. I catch it and chuck it into the garage. She laughs hysterically and we run through the front door like nothing happened. We make it half way up the stairs when Jill calls me.
"Oh, I didn't know you were home." I laugh and we walk to her room.
"I'm hungry and you're incharge of me." She states and Marty leans in the door way.
"You seem very sassy today." I state and she apologizes.
"How about we go get something to eat?" Marty suggests.
"I like her." Jill states and I laugh.
"Sure, we can get something to eat... Are you ready or do you want a few minutes?" I ask and Jill ushers us out of her room. I grab my car keys and my phone and have an incoming call from Johnson. I smile and answer it.
"Hey, What up?" I ask and Jill runs down the steps.
"What the fuck did you do to Gilinsky?" He asks and I furrow my eye brows confused.
"I haven't talked to him, he said for me to never talk to him again. What are you talking about?" I ask and Marty opens the door.
"I don't know, he was all pissed off and seemed upset and when I asked what was wrong he said Courtney." He explains confused.
"Well I haven't talked to him ever since he explained how much he hated me. So yeah." I state and I hear a noise in the background.
"Anyways, I'm hanging out with my new best friend, I'll see you later." I state and see Marty smile. He hangs up and I look over at Jill who has a burst of energy.
"Hey... you guys wanna walk? It's not that far from here." I suggest and we agree. I have my keys on a bracelet that was tucked on my right wrist. We start walking and dancing to music and Marty gets on my back for a piggyback ride. We're laughing hysterically and pass Jack's house and I almost trip infront of his neighbor's house. Marty hops down and gives me a piggy back ride to the front of the neighborhood, passing Johnson's house along the way.
"I want a piggy back ride!" Jill calls and I hop off Marty's back. I carry Jill to the pizza place and enjoy the time we're having there.
