"Amy!" Manager Vector exclaimed. "Why, what are you doing here?"

"Found her in the washroom." Rouge entered right after.

"Which one? The one with the ghost I've been hearing about?" Sticks asks coming out from the printing room around the corner, and Rouge nodded, drily affirming Stick's suspicions as she slid into her messy work bureau.

The heavy workload had carried from yesterday into the present, meaning there was little time for taking the usual 1-hour breaks, not even to clean up your personal workstation, hence Rouge's battle-field bureau.

"She's the 'dirty rose ghost' everyone's been running away from like a virus."

"I am right here!" Amy sterned.

"No offence," Rouge murmured.

Approaching the calamitous scene, "Ames?" Knuckles puzzled. "You came in today? What happened?"

"Amy's here?" Silver chirped and came running in.

Cream frenziedly followed, racing past Silver to suffocate her friend with reckless abandon.

"Hey, guys... hehe," Amy perked her cheeks up, turning bright pink. Her heart always found peace when surrounded by her most beloved treasures, but not so much in the inevitable, life-sucking group hug that ensued- which she had no method of escaping.

"Um, guys... Hey! I can't breathe! Stooooop! A-air!—"

"So sorry, Amy!" Cream squealed.

"Yeah, sorry about that," Silver added as they all pull away.

"Thank you!"

"Here you go," Blaze offered coming out of the lunchroom. It was a cup of hot ginger lemon tea and some madeleines from earlier. "You probably didn't eat anything this morning. Plus, your hangover from last night must be nagging at you..."

"Oh. My mind didn't even go there." Amy accepted gladly. "I can't tell you how hungry I am after all the ordeal this morning. Anger surprisingly uses up a lot of energy."

"Anger?"

"Hmm-hm," Amy mumbled, viciously devouring every single madeleine in between inaudible sentences. "Wow! These are really good!"

"Really? I haven't tried them yet--"

"IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO LAY BACK AND EAT WANNA BE FRENCH MADELEINES, PLEASE GET YOURSELF A TAXI - OR IF YOU'RE TOO COOL FOR THAT, AN UBER - AND SEE YOURSELF OUT OF THE PREMISES RIGHT AWAY MISS ROSE!" Manager Vector roared from across the office.

"YOU'RE SO MEAN, MANAGER V!" Amy yelled back. "DO I REALLY MEAN NOTHING TO YOU IF I'M NOT A WORKING STAFF!?"

"YES! "

She gasped a gasp of utter disbelief.

Who was this man? She didn't think she'd ever met or known him in her entire life!

"Don't mind him," Blaze smiled holding unto her as support from her shock. "He was actually vehemently against your new replacement in today's board meeting."

"What? Really?!" Amy teared up.

"Hm-hmm," Blaze continued. "He said, and I quote, 'Her skill set isn't the only thing Amy offers in our office. She's like family to us.'"

"But, he also said you were a valuable asset he could hand over some of his unwanted workload to," Rouge - out of nowhere- joined in on their whisper conversation. "Just saying."
