Your S/C (scale color) scales shone in the small patches of sunlight as you flew through the woods. This would have been such a relaxing place if there wasn't a weird machine chasing you. You dove up and around multiple branches, trying to escape the thing, but it kept coming. You would have been caught and possibly injured if not for the blue swiftwing who crashed into the machine, causing it to break. You stopped flying in your tracks and flew down to the floor where he was laying.

"Hey are you ok?" You ask him.

"Y-yeah... just hurts a little, I'll be fine." He said as he struggled to get up.

"You saved me! How did you know I was in trouble?" You ask another question.

"Well I heard your screams and tried to save you in a normal way, but I didn't see the camouflaged machine. Must have been one of Magnus's inventions gone wrong." He remarked.

"Who's Magnus?"

"Uh... well you don't need to worry about that." The swiftwing laughed nervously.

"The name's Winger." He extended his wing to you. You took it in a wingshake.

"I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you!"

"Are you hurt at all, Y/N?" Winger asked.

"No, I'm not. But your left wing looks pretty bad." You told him.

"Nah I'm fine, see?" He tried his best to fly up in the air, only to crash back down in a groan of pain.

"Ok so maybe I'm a little hurt. Can you go get help?" He asked you.

"And go above the tree line? No way! I'll be seen!" Winger smiled.

"Don't worry, you're in Huttsgalor now. This is my village. The people here accept dragons." He explained. You were hesitant but you accepted his answer. Right as you were about to fly off, the machine started back up again.

"Uh oh." Winger mumbled.

In a panic, you picked him up in your paws and flapped your wings as hard as you could. He was bigger than you but you were strong. You had your mother to thank for that. Flying above the tree line, you escaped the machine.

"Where do you live? I can take you there." You told the swiftwing.

"See that lighthouse tower? That's my home." Winger said. You nodded and started flying in that direction. As you got closer, a small Fire Fury flew up besides you.

"What are you doing with Winger?!" She shouted as she shot a fireblast in your direction. You dodged just in time.

"Aggro! It's ok, she's not hurting me!" The fire fury, Aggro, seemed to relax a little.

"I got injured and she's helping me get back to the Roost." Winger explained.

"Wow, you must be really strong! Winger had a big breakfast this morning." Winger blushed and waved a paw at Aggro, making you giggle.

"Need some help?" She offered.

"That would be nice." You replied and Aggro flew over and helped you lift Winger. The two of you flew the rest of the distance back to the Roost.

"Winger!" A human boy called as you and Aggro set him down. He ran up to the dragon.

"Hey Dak. What's up?"

"Winger, we were worried! You were away for a long time!" The boy, Dak, said. He turned to you.

"And who's the girl?" His voice immediately changed from worry to smug.

"She's just a friend of mine. She helped me get back to the Roost after I injured myself." Winger told Dak.

"Well, welcome to the Roost, Uh..."

"Y/N." You said, helping him out. "Also, you can speak to dragons?"

"We both can." A girl was walking towards you, a fastfin by her side.

"I'm Leyla and this is Summer. That's Dak, Aggro, Cutter, Burple, and I guess you already know Winger." She introduced everyone, including two other dragons, a razorwing and a rockspitter, that you didn't even see before.

"We're the Rescue Riders. And we thank you for saving Winger."

~time skip~

Winger was doing flips and spins in the air, whooping and howling. He must have been really happy to fly again. The Rescue Riders had allowed you to stay at the Roost until you were ready to leave. But you didn't want to leave until you made sure Winger was ok. You and him had spent about two weeks together, and it was mostly just you watching over him and making sure he didn't do anything reckless. Over the time you've stayed at the Roost, you've made best friends with Aggro and even developed a crush on Winger. But since he was better now, it meant you had to leave. Once Winger finally landed, you told him the news.

"But, you don't have to leave! You can stay with us longer, right?" You smiled sadly and shook your head.

"I have to get back to my pack. Thank you for saving me when I was lost. I'll never forget you." You tried to say these things quickly and leave before you ended up crying. Winger trotted up to your side before you could go.

"Can't you stay just a little longer?" He tried not to sound too desperate. You shook your head again, and his dropped.

"Ok.... well... come and visit again soon... you will visit, right?" He asked hopefully.

"Of course. And if it's ok with you and your team, I would like to bring my family with me." Winger nodded.

"Sure! Maybe come back in a few months for Odenyoul?"

"That would be fun!" You agreed. You and Winger just stared at each other for a moment.

"Ok... well... bye." You were about to turn around when Winger kissed your cheek. Just lightly, but your heart still did a flip.

You smiled at him and whispered, "I love you. See you soon." Then you spread your wings and took off into the sky.

So it's a bit... angsty at the end. Sorry but I had to cut it somewhere, there are over 1000 words written and I need to do other things. I hope you still like it!

And if anyone, and I mean ANYONE, requests something else here I will steal your frontal lobe and force feed it to you. (I'm busy and requests are closed but that hasn't stopped anyone from still requesting so I'm putting this warning here) (sorry if I offend you)
