Nightwing's/Richard 'Dick' Grayson's POV

It was a normal night for me. I was doing patrol, as usual. I was almost done with patrol when I saw this drunk man corner a young girl into an alleyway. The young girl looked to be around Damian's age. As for the drunk man, he looked to be 30 at most. I knew I had to put an end to this immediately, so I followed them.

"Hey beautiful, what are you doing out here this late?" The drunk man asked in a tone that made me want to puke.

"Trying not to judo-flip you," the girl snapped. This girl got some guts.

The man growled "Watch the way you speak, you bi-"

"Hey, that ain't how you speak to a lady is it now?"

The man charged at her. I was just about to step in, but she looked at him with a bored expression and judo-flipped him. I was shocked. He was like twice her height and thrice her weight!

She came close to his face, "You're lucky I hate killing people," She snarled, and glared at him. Holy shi-her glare is scarier than the batglare! And that's saying something, I thought. He gulped, nodded, and ran for his life.

I then decided to go and introduce myself. "That was quite impressive, Miss," She turned around to see me.

"Hello Monsieur Nightwing, I am Marinette," She introduces herself to me. This girl went from killer to nice in 1 second flat! I'm positive even Bruce can't do that, I thought.

I speak to her."Hello Miss Marinette, that was very impressive. But why are you out here in the night? It's very dangerous," I ask, concerned.

She frowned. "I am here on a trip to Gotham with my class, but they left me behind," She explained.

I raised an eyebrow. How odd." What about the teacher? Wouldn't they be on track and alert about their students?" I question.

She still frowns."My teacher is nothing like that. Since I'm the class president, she pushes all her work on me and tells me to be a good example. At this point, I'm more of a teacher's assistant than of a class president," She mutters. By now I'm sure I have an angry expression on my face. What kind of teacher doesn't care for her students?!

"Well then, Miss Marinette, how about I escort you back to the Wayne hotel, I assume? It's much too dangerous to go out alone, especially at night," I insist.

She smiles gratefully."Thank you, Monsieur Nightwing," I nodded in acknowledgment.

A few minutes later, we arrived at her destination. "Thanks again, Monsieur Nightwing," She says, smiling at me.

"It's no problem, Miss Marinette," I offer a smile in return.

"Oh, please call me Marinette," she says.

"Well then, it's no problem, Marinette," I tell her.

"I hope you have a good night," She says.

"Thank you, you too Marinette," I say. I then grabbed my grappler and grappled home.
