Three's A Crowd (Player/Captain/Veteran)

Player, Veteran, and Captain were all in the lab doing their tasks. Captain was busy aligning the telescope while Player watched Veteran scan.

"Hehehe. I don't get why Blue thought these stars were really big. They're obviously tiny if I need a telescope to see them." Captain mused to himself. He was supposed to be looking for the Skeld with the telescope, but instead he was looking for a constellation he really wanted to show Player. He scanned the stars as he continued to look for it until he finally found it. It was a group of stars that looked like a heart.

"Hey, Player. After we finish all of our tasks, do you wanna play Fall Guys?" Veteran asked as he stood on top of the Medbay scanner.

"No. I said I wasn't going to go back to playing that game." Player responded. "Besides, there's a movie I want to watch tonight."

"What's it called?" his friend asked.

"Deep Space Adventure 3. It's about these crewmates who fly through space looking for new planets. The first two were really good, so I'm hoping the third one will be too." Player happily replied.

"Can I come?"

"Sure. I don't see why not."

Captain overheard the conversation between Player and Veteran.

"Now wait just a minute, Player. I overheard you invite Veteran out on a date and you didn't invite me." he said.

"It's not a date, Captain. We're just going to watch this new movie I've really been wanting to see."

"But still. I'm your best friend and you didn't invite me." Captain said, looking down slightly.

"Okay, fine. You can come too." Player responded, not wanting to hurt Captain's feelings.

"Yay! I knew you would agree!" the white-clad man responded happily.

After a long day of doing tasks, Captain, Player, and Veteran all went to the movie theater. They bought their tickets and walked inside the building.

The smell of freshly popped, buttery popcorn was overpowering. It smelled so good and now Player was really hungry. He's been busy with the weather nodes all day, so he hadn't really had any time to take a break and eat.

Unfortunately, Player only had enough money to pay for his movie ticket and he didn't have enough left over to buy popcorn. Captain noticed his friend's disappointed expression and walked over to him. He handed him some more cash.

"Here. Get a big bucket of popcorn so we can share it."

"Thanks, Captain." Player went to the counter to go buy a bucket of popcorn. He came back with it a few minutes later and the three walked to the room where the movie was playing.

The previews were still playing as they made their way to their seats. Player took a seat in the middle of one of the rows. Captain and Veteran sat at each side because they both wanted to sit next to Player.

A few minutes later, the lights dimmed as the movie was about to start. Captain reached to put an arm around Player's shoulder.

"Don't you dare even think about it, Captain! He's mine." Veteran whispered so as to not interrupt the movie. Veteran copied Captain and put an arm around Player's shoulder as well.

Meanwhile, Player's face was bright red and all he could do was sit there awkwardly.

"Look! Now you're making him uncomfortable!" Captain pointed at Veteran.

Player completely froze. All the bickering between his two friends was interrupting the movie. Not to mention, they were throwing popcorn at each other.

"Stop throwing things at me!" Captain shouted. He then reached into the popcorn bucket Player had and threw some back at Veteran. They kept grabbing popcorn and throwing it at each other until they ran out.

As their voices got louder, more and more people started turning their heads to stare at the disruptive duo. At this point, Player had never felt more embarrassed.

Veteran placed a hand on Player's leg.

"Captain is being so obnoxious. Let's go somewhere else." he murmured, in hopes the white clad man wouldn't hear.

Player got out of his seat and walked out of the theater with Veteran, while Captain followed behind them.

"I can't believe the two of you ruined the movie for me! I never should've invited either one of you!" he yelled once he got outside.

"Player, I'm sorry about what happened back there." Captain said, looking rather ashamed. He then put his arm around his friend's shoulder. Veteran noticed and glared at him.

Captain noticed this and decided to make a rather risky move. "Player, there's something I need to tell you."

The red-suited man looked up. "Yeah, what is it now?"

"I-I think I'm in love with you!" he said as he embraced his best buddy.

"Hey! That's not fair! I loved him first!" Veteran chimed in, running over to drag Player away from Captain.

Player was unsure how to feel about this situation. He was rather confused that his two friends were both madly in love with him for whatever reason. If he were to pick one of them, the other would be heartbroken. He decided he'd stay quiet for now until he figured out what to do about it.
