Chapter 8
_____________________________________________________________________________________
I went on a look out for Jake after he disapeared while I was talking it up with Justin. For a while I couldn't find him, infact, lunch already ended quite a while ago too. Didn't even see him walking from a class, strangg. Did he just hide from me because I was talking to someone. This is going to be a very very long week.
Finally after school ended I saw his shadow spladdering the pavement outside of school where everyone goes after school. Following the shadow up, I'm greeted with his Nike shox and then tanned musclular legs to his basketball shorts and so on.
Beside him is some bimbo twisting her bleach blonde hair between her manicured nails, flirting like no other. Oh hell no. He is such a freaking girl!
I stompped over to where they stood; leaning against the brick wall of the school.
"Um excuse me, what are you doing here!?" the blonde said in a high bitchy voice.
"To talk to my boyfriend." I said as calm as I could, jaw cleaned ready to punch that smirk of the little face, gesturing towards him. Unable to look him in the eyes.
"Yeah funny one." she laughed with again a high bitchy voice.
"Im serious." I said with a straight face. Jake quite threw this whole thing, you know what. I grabbed Jakes arm pulling him away from the fake over there.
"Um so what was that about?!" I said jaw still in a tight clench. He said nothing, almost embarrassed.
"Am I gonna have to regret dating the player?"
"Don't say that." I quite rumble came from him. It can talk!
"Don't say what exactly." I was gonna make sure he doesn't hurt me again. It's like a dog when it first pees on the carpet, you keep it outside for it to learn it's lesson.
"Player, Jenny I know what I was, but I changed when I started dating you." his eyes met mine, accually almost beliving it.
"Well then what was that little sene right there."
"I was just talking to her, like you talked to that new guy."
"But you were flirting like tomarrow is going to happen, but in her bed!"
"Jenny, so were you." he said breaking his eyes from mine looking past me.
"Jake, no, he was my neighbor from when we were little kids."
"We just had not seen eachother for years, I'm sorry Jake if you thought that." I said pulling my hands on his face, almost forcing him to look at me kind of way.
Without saying a word he pulled me into a passionate kiss. Our lips moving in sync. He was a damn good kisser too and I accually did belive that he had changed for me.
"Im sorry Jenny." He said breaking the kiss looking me in the eyes sadness struck in them. I kissed him again lightly.
"Lets go get something to eat." I pulled him towards the parking lot. We got into his car and agreed to eat at Spris.
It was a italian/beach restaurant sitting on the beach. Jake politly opened the white entrence door for me. Outside bright blue awnings ran along the front of the restaurant with tables of people chatting underneath. The inside was beach themed which made quite sense. Creamy white walls, and beach photos painted the walls. Real plants all around with a round fish tank placed in the middle. Chefs worked where you could see them cook your meal.
We waited at the receptionest desk to get our seats. A petite young girl came.
"Hi. Is it just two?" she said gesturing the two of us, for how much seating.
"Yeah." Jake spoke up right behind.
She led us to a booth with light blue seats and white table. Lit with a multicolor hanging light. We both sat down and she handed us menus.
"What would you like to drink for now."
"Lemonade." I replied knowing exactly what I wanted since it is my favorite, Jake got a 7-up.
"Okay coming right up." she said scribbling down the order walking away.
"A gay baby was just born." I said breaking the akward silence, looking up with a straight face,
"What?" he said smiling, completly confused.
"A gay baby was just born." I said repeteing myself.
"I know what you said, but what?" he said still confused
"In every and any akward moment, a gay baby is born."
"Thats the craziest thing I've ever heard."
"Just think about it." I said pointing a finger to my head. But before Jake could say a word the waitress came back with our drinks.
"Thanks." we chimed at the same time as she set them down.
"Jinx! You owe me a soda!" I yelled gaining attention from people around. The waitress just kind of walked away. Wierded out, I could tell.
"Ok, ok how bout I just pay for the whole thing."
"Your to kind, really I have money."
"No I'm paying for your meal."
"Ok I can't say no to that." I said smiling at him.
"Good."
"So do you two know what your going to order yet." the waitress said popping out of no where.
"Uh yeah, hawiian pizza?" I said looking up at Jake to check if that was alright.
"Yeah we'll order that." He said confirming it.
"Ok it will be here in a few minutes." she said once again scribbling it down on a pad of paper walking away. We kept with some casual talk so no more gay babies be born. The pizza finaly came and it was really good.
"Damn." I mumbled to myself, but Jake heard, I really need to start mumbling quieter.
"What."
"Nothingg." I said drawing out the g.
"Serioucly what."
"I still have a boatload of homework."
"I don't have too much, I can help you."
"Ok thanks." I said finishing a piece of pizza. Then he finished and then paid the bill, leaving back to his house.
We arrived back and went up to his room, Anna wasn't home. Don't know why.
"So what do you need help on." he said pulling off his backpack setting it to the side of his desk, he took off his leather black jacket. I then followed and took off my white jean jacket, being practicly summer still it was still pretty hot.
"Math, I'm completely lost." I said pulling out my math book and piece of paper I only put my name on.
"Whats the problem?"
"Brendan went to Toronto to see a Blue Jays game. He had $650.00 for the trip. It cost him $40.00 for his ticket to the game, $216.00 to stay 2 nights at a hotel, $329.00 for his flight and $29.00 for food. He met a man on Young Street who was running a small casino. Brendan bet $5.00 in Black Jack and won an amount of money that was triple what he had left after making the bet. He spent half of this at the ball game. How much money did Brendan take home?" I read outloud to him.
"Well it would be '[$750 - (216 + 100 + 40 + 329 - 5)] 3/2 = $90.00' he wrote down thinking it out.
"So $90" He said.
"Okay I think I've got a hang of it now, thank you." I said kissing his cheek getting back to homework.
"Anytime." he smiled sitting at his desk, with me spralded out on the ground.
