Avni splashed her face with the cool water running from the tap, the bathroom now smelled of berries and this new face wash's fruit aroma was too strong for her liking. This one has come as a gift when she purchased a huge makeup kit for her wedding but who knows when she might put all those creams she bought to use.

Even the cool water splashing across her face couldn't calm her racing heart, how come Aniruddh enquired about her health out of the blue? Could he have heard about her health issues?

But all those health problems were a year ago, now she was fine all thanks to the costly therapy she has received. Not confiding about something which you don't suffer from anymore wouldn't be a lie, would it?

Quickly tossing those overwhelming thoughts aside, Avni pulled out her clothes changing herself into something more comfortable. Combing her mid-length thick hair into a tight ponytail she glanced at herself for one last time in the mirror. The yellow cotton kurta looked comfortable vibing with her olive skin tone.

A games night. Avni could already see the future, it will be a disaster.

It's been almost a year since Avni spent time with her friends. After the breakup with her ex-boyfriend, her friends seemed heavily invested in knowing the details of their separation rather than her pain and discomfort about the topic. She couldn't help but feel disappointed with herself, how could she never see their true nature before? A few of her friends almost seemed dead after they got to know about her breakup with her rich boyfriend and job resignation. All this long were they only with her for the money, did her friendship mean nothing? Even after this, she couldn't blame them, they had a life and probably a jobless one like her might only seem like baggage to them.

That point when she could see their true colours made her hate herself more than anyone. As a friend, she was loyal. So loyal and true that she would support her friends even in their downfall, maybe trusting people blindly would do that to you.

Avni slowly swept the floor lost in thoughts meanwhile her husband pulled out a huge blue mat from his wardrobe, spreading it down on the balcony floor arranging it with a few board games and snacks. She could already feel the excitement radiating, though his expressions remained calm.

She has met Aakash at their wedding but the prospect of spending time with him and his wife was freaking her out.

Though her relationship with Aniruddh was new and adaptable, the trouble she was having with people close to him made her heart collapse. She already fought with his mother and now she can't afford to upset him again if something goes wrong with his friends tonight.

A faint tweeting sound of the calling bell made Aniruddh walk for the door while Avni stood by the dining table waiting for his friends to step in. She quickly wiped the sweat forming on her hands to her Kurti, this keeps happens from time to time when she's extremely nervous.

"Welcome the world of a family man, my friend!" Aakash teased as he stepped inside pulling Aniruddh into a brotherly hug and both of them joked silently.

Avni smiled brightly as she watched them and shortly a tall woman stepped inside, punching Aakash's shoulder as she walked towards her making him yelp in pain.

"Hello, Avni! I am Noor, Aakash's wife." Introducing herself Noor hugged her with affection making Avni wonder at her sweetness.

"Did you see her, Anu? She keeps hitting me all the time! This is abuse-" Aakash tried to complain but his wife disregarded his words.

"Ignore him." Noor declared making Aakash narrow his eyes at her, and Avni couldn't help but laugh at them. They were so cute that even Aniruddh laughed out taking his friend to the balcony to console his fake angered friend.
