The Truth Will Set You Free

(Violet's Pov)

I woke up to the sound of banging on the door and I shot up from the couch and looked around a bit tiredly as I grabbed my rifle and I put my ear to the door to hear some groaning of a Walker. I quietly moved to the side where my bag was, and I grabbed it as I put it on my back and headed to the fire escape and saw that it was snowing more, and I groaned to myself. I looked down to see more Walkers in the ally and I shake my head a bit as I head down the ladder carefully. But just my luck the ladder fell with me still on it and I felt something go through my side and I groaned a bit in pain. I hear shuffling and looked to see some Walkers coming to me and I get up as best as I could, but the pain was unbearable as I take deep breaths and looked to see the Walkers getting closer.

"Fuuuuck." I groaned out as I shoved the ladder to the side as best as I could, and I take a deep breath as I pulled myself up and I felt the pole in my side being pulled from my body and I was finally up and I held my side as blood came from it. I was able to move away fast enough for a Walker to not grab me and I got up as best as I could and grabbed my rifle and ran as best as I could. I fell in a large pile of snow when I tripped over a body and I groaned more as I felt my side burn and I take a few deep breaths as I get back up and head into another building before the Walkers could get me. I was able to lock the door and shove a large toolbox in the doors way so if they were to get in there would be an obstacle in their way. I looked around to see that I was in an auto shop and I quickly move to the side and found a set of keys to a few of the cars. I heard more banging on the door as I hurried into the mustang which was the closest to me and I threw the bag and rifle in the passenger seat as I got in and tried to start it up. I tried over and over again as I finally got the engine to roar to life and I nod as I hurried to the garage door and hit the switch then hurried back into the mustang as the door opened and the Walkers start coming in. I hit the gas and hit a few of the walkers running them over as I drive out the door for the car and I swerved a bit in the ice patch but got my bearings as I just kept driving and driving and driving. It was hours before I finally ran out of gas and I held my side a bit as the car slowed to a stop and shut off completely and I rubbed my head a bit at this and looked to see some blood and I shake my head a bit as I go through my bag and grab an old shirt and tied it around my wound as best as I could.

"Fucking god damn it, stupid fucking ladder, stupid fucking Walkers, fucking stupid ass fucking Joan fuck this." I ranted as I got out the car and grabbed my bag and began to walk into the wood in the snow. It was days till I finally got to Georgia and I took a bit of a detour to Savanna and to a familiar home. I went into the back and looked at Lee's grave a bit and then looked around some to keep my guard up and I looked down to the grave. I saw the flowers dead and frozen and I take a deep breath and held my side as it hurt a bit and looked to the side and then back to the grave a bit. And like an idiot I decided now would be a good time to smoke, so I grabbed a cigarette and lit it up and looked to the grave some more.

"Been a long time since I last been here... Clem may have passed by I hope she did at least... I didn't lie I'll try and get her here one day to see you again." I talked and I looked to the grave a bit more and sighed.

"I fucked up a lot, been seeing things and hell I... I ain't proud of what I did or what I will do if it involves hurting people... I... I just can't think right these days ever since Joan.... Hmm no that's to personal." I say as I looked down to the snow and took an inhale of the cigarette and sighed as I blew out the smoke and looked around then looked to the grave and the cross with his name carved in it. It was fading a bit and I sighed as I rubbed my neck then took another inhale.

"I uh... I know this is karma coming at me for how I treated her a long time ago... probably you trying to tell her to get away from me, I don't blame you if it is." I say and sighed as I heard some Walkers, and I grabbed my bag and rifle as I went to head out. There were thousands of Walkers and I head into a building to keep myself hidden as I walked around the building a bit and headed to an ally way and headed into the next building, I kept doing that as I tried to exit out of Savanna, but it started to get more and more congested with Walkers. I looked around the building a bit to find anything I would need but of course nothing which doesn't help me in anyway. I was able to find an opening as I head in that direction, I went back into the woods and then to my map and headed northwest into Tennessee. I kept going more and more in that direction as the Walkers got smaller and smaller in numbers. I looked to see my map saying there was a military base nearby and I looked to see I was in this town called Clarksville and I looked around some more. I find a tall wall and there was a ladder to I took the opportunity and climbed up in the base and jumped down the wall and took a look around to find it abandoned which was good.
