T H R E E

FIRST YEAR

Nearly a year had gone by, it was soon time for Rebecca to head home for summer holidays before starting up again for her second year. Rebecca had made a substantial amount of friends in her first year. Ruby who was also a Hufflepuff, she was a skinny little thing compared to Rebecca who was short and plump. Ruby had tanned skin, with long soft dark curly hair, it was beautiful, she was beautiful. All the boys have a crush on Ruby, but she's none the wiser, a bit ditsie that one. Ruby was a pure blood witch, her parents ran and owned a 200 year old village pub back home.
There was Danny, he was tall and toned, a body of a ballerina. His beautiful skin glowed during sun sets, it was rich like chocolate. Dannys hair, black as the nights sky, tight curls with the occasional loose coil that hung from his face. Everything he did was done with such grace. He was more feminine then other boys in the year, he enjoyed joining in on all the 'girly' activities such as face masks, make up and dress up. Danny was happy trying on heals and dresses, he looked good too. He hated having to sleep in a room with smelly boys, Rebecca did feel sorry for the poor chap. Danny was very smart, he'd take his time to analyse situations whether it was worth for him so to take part or not. Always getting good grades, Ruby would often copy him when he wasn't looking. Danny's half blood, his mother was a muggle born witch and his father a muggle, his mother worked in the Ministry of magic whilst Danny's father was a postman.
Then there was Lee, Lee was in Slytherin, but nothing like Rebecca's family who were all in Slytherin. Not an inch of hatred came from that girl. She just knew what she wanted and would do anything to reach her goals. Her mother must have engraved it into Lee when young, considering Lee's mother moved from Japan at 18, a very smart woman who wasn't gonna get anything get in her way, even if it meant moving half way around the world. Lee's hair was dead straight, black with two bleach blonde streaks framing her petite face. Lee is a half blood, mother a Japanese muggle and father a British wizard. Lee's father is a doctor, it was hospital where he met Lee's mother who is a paramedic. Rebecca never asked why Lee's father had a muggle job, maybe he wanted to get away from it all, a simpler way of living.
Rebecca loved the fact that none of her friends were too similar to opposite.
Any free time the four got they spent together, sitting just reading in the library or catching the rays of sun on the grass outside the castle.

It was a Monday morning, and a groggy Rebecca stomped along following behind a over energetic Ruby.
'How is anyone so alert this early on a Monday morning' Rebecca yawned slumping in her chair with Ruby sat to her left.
'Hey Bex's its potions, how can you not be excited!' Ruby sat up straight with a huge smile on her face ready for the day. The class was filling up fast, not many empty seats around. Rebecca felt a thump to her right, she turned to see who was sat with her. Fred Weasley. He sat looking down on her short stumpy frame, they don't talk often but when they do talk you can't shut the pair up.
'Weasley...'
'Malfoy, how are yo....'
'FRED! Hi!' Ruby interrupted, Fred giggled to himself shaking his head.
'Hey Ruby, how are you doing? A Little birdie told me the other day that you and Sam' he tilted his head in the direction of Sam Davies in the corner of the room
'So.....are you two talking, things getting serious?' Wiggling his eyebrows trying to embarrass Ruby.
Rebecca sat with her eyes wide, knowing full well she  was the one who had told Fred about Ruby's crush. Ruby was paused, really thinking about what her next words were. Fred and Rebecca looked at each other worried Fred annoyed her. Their heads popped up as she started to speak
'A birdie...like a real bird? I didn't know they spoke!' Ruby replied. Fred and Rebecca's head shot to Ruby checking if she was serious or not, the two rolled their eyes and giggled to each other at how funny Ruby is. The three sat in silence, Ruby went into a day dream. Fred noticed and took his opportunity.
'Anyways...how you doing Becky, it's been a while! I missed our chats'
Rebecca looked up at him confused
'Our chats?' Still baffled by what he was talking about. The boy started turning bright red.
'Umm yeah, ya know just chatting? You're one of my best mates, umm yeah...? Becky just shhh'
Rebecca laughed at how nervous he had suddenly become
'Ya know Freddie, I enjoy our chats too. We should chat more often'
The freckled boys head popped up, paying her attention.
'Yeah you think? I'm not annoying or anything?'
'Woahhh...I didn't say nothing about you not being annoying Fred! I just like our chats! But I hardly see you Fred' she giggled
'IM HAPPY TO SEE YOU MORE'
'Alright, I get it! You wanna hang out with this cool cat! No need to tell the whole class about it!'
'Oh sorry'
'Shhh Freddie! Let's just listen aye? You always distract me when I'm meant to be paying attention'
Fred just smiled at her and looked forward trying to follow what the teacher was talking about.

'Class dismissed'
Everyone grabbed their things and started to leave. Rebecca went to collect her books and noticed a note placed on her book. Confused she looked around trying to work out who it was from. Fred had vanished and Ruby was wait patiently for Rebecca. Rebecca picked up the note and stuck it into her book and rushed out the door.

It was break time, Rebecca and Ruby made their way to the patch of grass on the hill outside the castle. Considering it was a hot sunny day it was perfect. Rebecca and Ruby were first to the hill today, beating Lee and Danny. As soon as Rebecca sat her self down she opened her book searching for the note. She couldn't find it, searching every page, up down and across
'Bex! Look, the paper is floating!' Ruby nudged Rebecca
'Huh?' Rebecca looked up spotting the note being blown down the hill by the soft summers wind. She shot her self up
'Ruby! Stay and wait for Lee and Danny! I will be back soon'
Rebecca ran down the hill after the note! The further she went down the hill the colder and more muddy it got. She jumped and somehow managed to grab the note, falling forward into mud. Rebecca got herself back up rubbing her self off, still covered she trotted up the hill
'This bloody not better be worth it!' She mumbled to her self. Getting to the top of the hill Rebecca spotted everyone and more. Ruby, Lee, Danny, Sam, George and Fred. The girls and Danny rushed over to check if Rebecca was okay, whilst the three boys giggled in the back.
'Oh my goodness Rebecca, are you alright?' Danny checked over her. Lee handing her tissues seeing Rebecca had tears in her eyes.
'Umm I think I'm gonna head back, have a bath and get into bed for the afternoon, can you guys cover me? Tell them I've been sick or something' Rebecca let out a whisper.
'Hey we can come with you. Let's go' Lee said tucking a straggly stand of hair out of Rebecca's face
'No! I want to go alone thanks, you keep these boys company' Rebecca said pointing to the three boys standing awkwardly among them selves.
'Are you sure bex?' Said Danny
'Positive!' She replied
'I will see you all in the morning at breakfast!' Rebecca said I a bit louder for everyone to hear.

She started walking back to the castle when she heard foot steps. She walked faster thinking it was Ruby being confused following Rebecca back. Tears running down Rebecca's face.
'RUBY CAN YOU PISS OFF! I said I wanna be alo....Fred?'
'Hey hey heyyyy Becky boo!' He wrapped his long arm bringing her in to a tight hug, soaking his shirt with tears. He was warm, exactly what she needed.
'I'm sorry Becky, I didn't mean to make you cry' he whispered
'You didn't?' She lifted her head from his chest looking up at him confused
'I kinda did' he nervously ruffled his hair. She stared back at him still confused. Fred pointed to her hand still in a fist.
'I wrote you that note' he confessed
Rebecca looked down at her fist opening to reveal the note
Hey Becky! Fancy getting a milkshake one weekend and just have one of our chats?

Rebecca looked back up at Fred with a grin overwhelming her face and just embraced him in her arms, he wrapped his back around her confused
'Sure thing Freddie! This weekend work for you? You gotta a lot to make up for after today!'
'Phew! I thought you'd kill me Becky!'
'Never ever Freddie!' She squeezed a bit tighter, not wanting to let him go. She smiled pulling away from Fred.
'Well you better get back! They will be missing you! I'm gonna go have a bath, pyjamas and get into bed!'
'What! I'm jealous now! That sounds perfect!'
Rebecca smiled leaving Fred, walking away from the tall ginger teen
'See ya tomorrow morning Weasley!' Blowing him a kiss before running away to the Hufflepuff dorm. Fred turned to head back to the others shaking his head smiling.
'Aghhh Becky, what are you doing?' He mumbled to himself
