S I X

THIRD YEAR

Rebecca barley talks to twins.
It's been nearly a year since Rebecca spoke to the twins, she'd smile and occasionally share a wave with George Weasley but Rebecca had no contact with Fred anymore, they just grew apart. He now had a girlfriend and was busy with Angelina. Rebecca hated watching those two. The constant kissing, whispering and cringeworthy giggling, even George stopped hanging out with Fred so much.

On the other hand Rebecca and Ruby where closer then ever. Lee and Danny have other friends in their own houses, who they spend most of their time with, but the four still got on. Ruby was now dating Sam, but Ruby always had time for Rebecca, never leaving her out.

Rebecca now played quidditch for the shufflePuff team as a seeker. She's playing for a year now. It became her life. Rebecca had become very independent, she was either revising, playing quidditch or with hanging out with Ruby I'm her spare time.
Rebecca stretched her arms holding her broom, the Hufflepuff team stood in a line next to the Gryffindor team, all looking ahead Rebecca felt a bit nervous knowing not only was she playing a match against the twins but they were behind her. She felt uncomfortable, her first friends at Hogwarts who she no longer spoke to. Rebecca heard whispering coming from behind her knowing it was the twins.
'Is that Rebecca Malfoy? Since when did she play for Hufflepuff?'
'Yes George! And for ages, I always see her when I watch Hufflepuff train when u need alone time from Angelina' The boys giggled behind Rebecca.
'Oi! Malfoy, ya gonna take it easy on me and Freddie today?' Rebecca looked over her right shoulder licking eyes with George, he responded with a wink. Rebecca cringed turning back around. Fred burst out laughing at his twin brother.
'George, we both know I was her favourite when she had time for us' Fred jokingly smacked George's back laughing. Rebecca just rolled her eyes at the comments flying there way.
Professor McGonagle burst in, whispering in Oliver Woods ear before looking up with a sympathetic look, nodding and leaving.
'Games canceled' Oliver grunted
'What why?' Coming from a voice behind
'Our seeker has broken his leg and is in the hospital wing' Wood replied. Looking back at his team.
'We can either wait for him to get better, hoping he'd still be able to play or find ourself a new seeker' Oliver turned to the Hufflepuff team captain shaking hands.
'Till then Hufflepuff has won this game' Oliver forced a smile before walking out, with his team following behind.
Rebecca jogged up the hill, following a mop of dark brown curls. It was Ruby walking with her boyfriend and the Weasley twins and Angelina.
'Ruby!'
The three stopped waiting for Rebecca. Rebecca out of breath walked along side Ruby who was holding hands with Sam. They were a cute couple, ruby would always sneak into the Ravenclaw common room to go see Sam.
'I was just thinking about you Rebecca' Ruby turned to Rebecca.
'Oh yeah! Good thoughts I hope?'
'Always silly' Ruby pulled her friend into a tight hug.
'Shove off Malfoy' Rebecca heard in the distance, they didn't mean her?
'Jesus Christ, it's Draco! What has he done now?' Rebecca ran the rest of the way up the hill, freezing as soon as she saw what was happening.
'FRED! GEORGE! Help!' Rebecca ran, followed by George. Fred tried to join by Angelina didn't want to let go of his hand. He ripped his arm away from her in anger.
'Jesus, Angelina this could be important!' Fred huffed following the two before him
'Nothing she says is important' Angelina whispered hoping no one would hear. Ruby overhead and bolted towards Angelina before being held back by Sam. He leaned down to Ruby's level.
'Let's go check everything is alright hey?' The couple jogged up the hill to find the twins holding a blonde and ginger boy apart, first years.
'Everything alright Rebecca?' Sam questioned. Rebecca payed no attention walking up to the bleach blonde boy.
'What is wrong with you Draco?' Rebecca pulled her brother away from Fred.
'Hey! I don't know why you're having a go at me! He's the one hanging out with filthy mud bloods!' The eleven year old shouted up to his older sister. Rebecca shoved Draco in anger, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. Rebecca leaned down over his brother, making sure to show her authority over him.
'NEVER and I mean never' she paused taking a deep breath looking down 'ever say that again in my presence! You're just like our parents!' Rebecca scoffed walking away. Draco jumped up in embarrassment pulling out his wand.
'BECKY WATCH OUT' Fred roared out. Rebecca turned back to her brother. Walking towards him not phased by his actions.
'And what Draco, you gonna zap me?' Rebecca tapped the end of his wand with her finger, then looking up at Draco 'learn to use the bloody thing first' Rebecca laughed knowing Draco couldn't do anything.
'You alright Weasley?' Rebecca asked the small ginger boy. He nodded at Rebecca, shocked by what had just happened.
'Hey you know you standing up for ya mate...' looking towards the small girl '...is VERY brave, even standing up to my silly brother, ignore him! He knows nothing' Rebecca looked back trying to find Draco but he had ran off. Ruby stood next to Rebecca gave her hand a bit of a squeeze.
'Common Ruby, gets go! You coming too sam?' Rebecca turned to the huddle of boys.
'Nah I will see ya later Ruby?' Sam smiled. Ruby smiled back running up to her boyfriend giving him a tight squeeze before walking away with Rebecca.

Later on that day Rebecca and Ruby were sat at the table eating dinner. Sam next to Ruby with Rebecca on the other side. Rebecca just read her book, Ruby was busy giggling between each other.
'Hey Becky, can we talk?' Rebecca turned finding Fred, Rebecca stood giving Ruby a smile, picking up her stuff following the tall ginger boy.
'Cheers for sticking up for Ron earlier, especially since it was your brother'
'It's cool, I guess that why I'm a Hufflepuff and not Slytherin. I stick up for what I believe, even if it is against family.'
'How did you know he wouldn't attack you earlier? I was scared for you'
Rebecca laughed
'He's actually a whimp, for now at least he wouldn't hurt me. I just have to keep my wits about me, hoping he doesn't fall down the wrong path...' Fred gazed at Rebecca in awe '...um I will see ya later Fred? I'm gonna go find Ruby yeah?' Fred shook his head coming out of his trance.
'Yeah, yeah see ya later Rebecca. Is it alright if I sit with you and Ruby? George is sat with Ron and his little mates, I can't hear another word of Harry Potter' Fred followed Rebecca back
'Harry Potter is at Hogwarts?' Rebecca asked shocked, looking up at a over exaggerated grumpy Fred Weasley. Rebecca giggled and skipped back.

After watching the first years sorting ceremony everyone stood to head back to their house common rooms. A tall dirty blonde boy approached Rebecca, Fred stood by her side.
'Umm hi Rebecca' the blonde boy rubbed the back of his neck
'Hi?' Rebecca replied not quite knowing who she was talking to, till Fred whispered
'That's Cedric Digory' before walking a bit ahead stopping waiting for Rebecca, still listening in.
'I was wondering if you wanted to go watch the Slytherin vs Ravenclaw match this weekend? It's okay if you don't wanna, I just notice you watching quidditch matches and thought I could keep you company' Cedric asked forcing confidence.
'Yeah that sounds good! You like hot chocolate Cedric?' Rebecca replied
'Oh really? I expected you to reject me instantly, I mean your Rebecca Malfoy, everyone fancy's you'
'Ha next joke Cedric, I will bring the hot chocolates and you bring the blankets! Gonna be a chilly one...' Rebecca raised her voice making sure Cedric could hear as she ran back towards Fred.
'Thanks for waiting for me Weasley' Rebecca smiled
'You're going on a date with Cedric...Cedric Digory?' Fred asked in a glum tone.
'Kinda, can you believe that! Cedric said that everyone at school fancied me' she giggled running up the stairs towards the dorms leaving Fred behind
'Yeah, I can believe it Becky' a small smile formed on Fred's face.
'FRED!' Fred turned to find his twin brother running towards him.
'You alright twinny? Saw you chatting up Rebecca Malfoy, what happened to you being over her? Isn't that why you're with Angelina now?' George asked
'Yeah I am George! I'm over her! That's not why I'm with Angelica, she's a nice girl, I really like her actually!' Fred snapped
'Then start acting like it Fred and leave poor Rebecca alone, she's not interested' George laughed walking away.
