After everything had settled Mrs. Yoland got up and went over to her file cabinet. She Looked through the cabinet and walked back to her desk with a file in her hand. Mrs. Yoland took out her note pad and greeted the patient. "Hello Mr. Terrello, and again I'm sorry for Ms. Rearing's theatrics." she said with an apologetic smile, "It's quite alright. I found her performance funnier than last time" replied Mr. Terrello looking back at me. "Pfft, that speech was Oscar worthy" I thought, feeling a frown begin to form on my face. "How have you been since our last appointment?" asked Mrs. Yoland. "Well, it hasn't gotten better if you're asking" he said. "Have your symptoms worsened?" Mrs. Yoland questioned. "Well somewhat, my anxiety and PTSD lately have been taking a toll on me." Mr. Terrello explains. "Can you elaborate?" Said Mrs. Yoland. "Well, I recently went to a party with the guys and when I got there everything seemed fine. I was dancing with a pretty lady enjoying the music when all of a sudden my heart rate accelerates. I began shaking and sweat started to accumulate all over my body. My old memories began to resurface, and I thought about everything he had done to me that day. I felt like I needed to get away but as I was going through the crowd a weird sensation came over me. The sound of the loud music became faint, I began panicking, and having irrational thoughts that he was here: that he was coming for me. I know your gonna say that won't happen but it felt real" tears escaped Mr. Terrello's eyes. "I felt him everywhere. In that moment I thought he was going to hurt me again. I felt like I was going to die, my friends found me hunched on the floor and had to carry me outside to get some fresh air. After that I started to calm down and realized I missed my chance with the pretty lady" Mr. Terrello joked at the end. Handing him a tissue, Mrs. Yoland said" I understand your concerns, however, as you were at a party there is a possibility the lights, loud sounds, or the smell of alcohol triggered your attack. These memories seem to be reoccurring so I recommend that you see a therapist" "I know but what if the session doesn't work again" Mrs. Yoland smiles at him and said "these sort of attacks are common, nothing to be ashamed of. I know you're concerned, what you experienced is very traumatic. It may not seem like things will get better but they will it just takes time." She added. My heart broke for him as his past is still inflicting the same pain. "That will be all for today, I will get you in contact with a therapist and look over your medication" Mrs. Yoland said. "Thank you" replied Mr. Terrello. As he got up, he shook Mrs. Yoland's hand thanking her again. Mr. Terrello came over to me and shook my hand saying, "you should go into the theatre or try standup comedy" he joked. All I could muster up was a simple smile. After saying the final pleasantries, the appointment ended and Mr. Terrello left. I knew Mrs. Yoland was going to give me an earful if I stayed, so I carefully picked up my belongings and stealthily exited the room when she wasn't looking. I must have not been quiet enough as I heard Mrs. Yoland yell "wait!" right behind me. Not wanting to get caught, I ran down the hall and to the nearest staircase. I jumped down one level and headed toward its elevator. As I walked toward the elevator I thought about how smart my strategy was. While entertaining myself with the idea of applying for the FBI or something. Lost in thought, I hadn't realized someone was behind me until they grabbed my arm. This instantly brought me out my thoughts and into self defence. I grabbed their arm and twisted it behind their back, almost tempted to do a lion choke. After I made sure my hold was secure I leaned forward to get a proper view, I gasped and let go when I realized who it was. "I keep forgetting you have a black belt in jujutsu" Caleb, my close friend said while rubbing his arm. "And you think that would be valuable information to remember before touching me" I replied sarcastically. "Whatever. Where are you going by the way?" "My afternoon shift is over and I'm trying to leave quickly because I'm ducking you know who" I told him honestly and not bothering to mention the name as he knew. "Same! My mentor has been on me all morning. Why don't we go to our usual cafe spot and text Sam to meet us?" Caleb asked. "I'm down" I agreed "Great!" Caleb and I entered the elevator and headed toward the parking lot. As we were nearing the area where I parked my car, we were instead met with an empty parking space. "Just great!" I yelled.
