𝙳𝙴𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙱𝙴𝚁 𝟸𝟾, 𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟿
SKYLAR AND CHARLIE WERE AT the airport, minutes away from their airplanes departing. skylar was cuddled up in her seat, head leaning against charlie's shoulders. her hands playing with charlie's fingers, a sadden look on her face
"hey" charlie whispers as he leans his head on top of hers
"mmm" she mumbles, hands still playing with his right hand
"what's wrong sunshine?" he asks softly as he kisses her head
skylar sighs softly "this is the first time we're going to be apart for a long time" she says with a sad tone
"it's only for three weeks" charlie assured
skylar lifted her head to be able to glance at him "why do you have to go to vietnam?" she questions with a sly pout
"i told you to come with me" charlie softly chuckled
"you know i can't" she sighs. after new years, skylar was going to start meeting with a few people to start writing songs, kenny also taking part in the meeting
"it's gonna be okay. i promise time is going to go by quick" he promised
once charlie's flight was called, she walked him to his boarding gate. he tugged back a strand of her hair "i love you" he smiled softly
skylar gave a weak smile, trying to push back the tears that began to form in her eye. she nodded softly "i love you too" she wrapped her hands around his neck, charlie wrapping his around her waist pulling her closer. skylar snuggled her head in his neck. she held him tightly, flights made her feel panicky, ever since her father's plane accident
"you're gonna be okay. just remember to take deep breaths" he spoke softly to her. as he pulled away he kissed her temple "okay?"
skylar softly nodded "okay" she stood on her tippy toes and connected her lips with his
"see you next year" he teasing winked, skylar letting out a small giggle
"see you next year" she repeated

skylar was seated in her assigned seat, minutes away from her plane departing. she breathed in and out, trying keep her heartbeat steady. luckily for her no one was seated next to her. she closed her eyes, just trying to concentrate her breath, a way too familiar voice cooed in her ear, her heart skipping a beat "you're going to be okay, i'm right here with you, always and forever" she felt a light weight grip her hand

"so a record deal huh?" skylar hears a voice call out in her sleep. she slowly flutters her eyes open, she was faced with the airplanes window, she turned her head slowly, the person seated next to her was mark cameron
"dad?" skylar smiled softly
"hi my little sky" mark gave her a cheesy grin as he gripped her hand. skylar looked around the plane to see no one, it was just her and mark "promise me you'll record the song you wrote for me"
skylar gave him a weak smile "i promise"
"you know since we're here sing me a snippet" mark teased with a grin, skylar chuckled softly
"there goes a month, there goes a year so many things out there i fear you helped me up when i was down you taught me how to stand my ground this life is a song, happy and sad and i don't wanna sing without you dad maybe it's selfish when i say these words but i'm missing you home use to just be some walls that i knew but the truth is that home means nothing without you"
mark smiled sadly "god, i've missed hearing your angelic voice"
skylar felt tears prickle in her eyes "and i've missed you"
mark lifted the seat holder up and brought her into his arms "i've missed you too" he softly spoke as he ran a hand through her hair "keep singing" he whispers
skylar smiled softly "this one is called fix me up"

mark was in aww of his daughter. the amount of talent she has never fails to impress him every single time. he wished more than anything that he could physically be there to see her accomplish her dreams "i'm proud of you" he told her as she was telling him about writing perfect harmony with charlie
skylar smiled before she wrapped her hand around his arm and laid her head on his shoulder "i know. thank you for always believing in me"
