With the doors closing and Maeve being locked in electrical with the person she trusted the least, and now the lights turning off, to say the fox faunus was panicked would be an understatement.

"Maeve?" Adam's voice could be heard, as he could hear her breathing quicken. "Stay away from me! Don't kill me!" Maeve panicked, stepping backwards. She didn't know where to go or what to do, all she knew is she needed to distance herself as much from the Taurus as she could, until the lights switched on.

"I won't hurt you."

"I don't trust you!"

Adam fell quiet at Maeve's words, before he said a soft "I'm sorry." Maeve froze as she heard those words, wondering for a moment if he was meaning that sincerely.

Suddenly, a loud rattle was heard, and it was clear to the pair that somehow there was now a third person in the room.

Maeve felt the woosh of a sword go past her head, hitting the wall behind her. Her heart sank before she just ran, "Adam fuck off!" She hissed, not having a weapon to defend herself, nor could she see. She hadn't realised that the sword had just cut her arm.

There was no response, as grunting and fighting was heard. "Get away from her!" Adam growled, before the lights flicked back on. Maeve stood behind Adam, the Taurus boy with his blade in his hand as he had tried to protect the fox faunus from whatever else was in the room.

Maeve looked in surprise, as all along she thought Adam was trying to kill her, but in reality he was trying to defend her. "Are you okay?" Adam asked as he turned around to face Maeve, as he noticed her trembling. He stepped forward as she practically fell into his arms, overwhelmed by everything that had just happened. "Hey.. it's okay.." Adam said reassuring as the girl tried to keep it together. Blood soaked his shirt, but he didn't notice as he was comforting his old friend.

"Thank you.." The Lopez girl said softly, before she stood up, as Adam let go of her. "Of course, you're my friend." Adam said, with a half smile.

The doors suddenly opened, as Enzo, Nova and Ari rushed inside, finding the faunus pair. "Are you both okay?!" Enzo asked, panicked. "Y..Yeah." Maeve answered. "Somehow, somebody attacked us." Adam explained, "There must be another way inside." He added.

Nova frowned, before he walked to the other side of electrical, before stopping as he noticed something. "Have you guys noticed these vents everywhere?" The panther faunus asked. The Lopez twins, Ari and Adam walked over to Nova, looking at the vent in front of them.

"Yeah isn't it for the heating and cooling?" Enzo asked, as Maeve nodded. "But why is it.. open?" Ari asked. "The vents are being used as another way to get around the ship." Nova concluded.

"Hey are you okay?" Stella asked, as Yang looked at hey, "Yeah I'm fine.. but what about everyone else?" She asked. The best friends quickly left the kitchen, finding Jenni and Jasper, who had both been trying to find exits while the doors had been closed.

"What just happened?" Jasper asked, facing Stella and Yang with hope that they would have an explanation. "We have no idea." Stella admitted.

Jenni peered over at the big red button sitting on one of the cafeteria tables. It was used to call emergency meetings. "I think we should call a meeting to make sure that all of the crewmates are safe." She suggested as Yang, Jasper and Stella agreed. With that, the wolf faunus put her hand on the button, before pressing it.

SOMETIME LATER

Pyrrha took Stella's hands and squeezed them gently, "I'm so glad that you're okay." She said relieved. "I'm glad you're okay too." The pinkette replied.

"Who are we waiting on?" Ilia asked. "We're waiting on Maeve, Enzo, Adam, Nova, Ari, Ren and Nora." Yang announced, before the group that had been in electrical, raced into the cafeteria. Seeing Maeve, Blake's worried expression faltered. "Okay just make that Ren and Nora." Jaune insisted.

"Oh god what if they're off havi—" Alec blurted as Abra nudged him, "They would have heard the meeting alarm." She insisted. "Okay well do we go and look for them?" Miles suggested.

Elena's cat ears drooped, as she thought of the chance of finding them dead. Davina noticed this and sighed, "I guess I should address the elephant in the room and suggest the possibility that they could be dead." She admitted.

Weiss frowned, "No.. We don't know that yet." She admitted. Leon and Nova shared a worried glance, "It is a possibility." The redhead confessed sadly.

Suddenly, Nora raced into the room, as Jaune let out a sigh of relief. "Hey guys.. where is Ren?" She asked, noticing her boyfriend wasn't in the cafeteria. "You mean.. he isn't with you?" Stella asked, in surprise.

Nora shook her head. "When I checked the cameras I found Nora walking alone." Blake admitted. Leon frowned, "Yeah Nora passed navigation and we saw her alone." He added. "Why would you walk around by yourself when you know there is a murderer on the loose?!" Adam huffed.

"Why are you guys even asking me that when we should be focusing on Ren! Ren is missing and we need to find him!" Nora panicked. With that, everyone scattered to find the boy.

"Ren?!" Stella called, as herself, Pyrrha, and Kiko entered weapons. There was no response. Ilia, Blake, Adam and Miles checked medbay, finding nothing. Elena, Weiss, Davina and Ari checked electrical, not finding anybody as Nova and Yang checked the reactor. With those rooms being empty, Alec, Maeve and Leon checked admin and Enzo and Jaune checked storage.

"This is so weird.." Jasper trailed off, beginning to worry. Jasper, Nora, Jenni and Abra as they were standing in shields. Nora and Jasper had decided to go to communications but walked with Jenni and Abra. "Do you guys want to come with us to communications?" Nora asked, not wanting to be alone with anyone.. the only person she felt she could trust that much is Ren "Sure." Jenni answered as Abra just nodded.

The group reached communications and entered the room, stopping in their tracks as Ren laid on the ground in a pool of his own blood. His eyes remained open, revealing that he had died from head trauma. Nora's mouth fell open, as she trembled, in too much shock to respond to the scene in front of her.

"Oh my god—" Jasper blurted, his face pale. Abra covered her mouth in surprise, taking a step back. "We.. we need to tell the others." Jenni said before tore her eyes away from Ren, as she teared up. When Nora finally could grasp that Ren, the boy she absolutely loved and adored is dead, she let out an ear piercing scream as she fell to her knees and sobbed.
