SOMETIME LATER

Stella tapped away on the screen in Medbay, seemingly distracted. Her thoughts were clouded as she thought about the events from earlier. She really wondered what caused the oxygen to begin depleting in the first place. The pinkette was so distracted by her own thoughts, that she hadn't heard Pyrrha knock on the door.

"Stella?"

The girl spun around, giving the redhead a tired smile as she stood in the doorway. Pyrrha smiled back, before walking over to Stella.

"Nora helped me fix the scanner! Step on it." Stella said with excitement, as Pyrrha nodded before taking a step onto the scanner.

A green circle of light surrounded her and scanned the girl up and down, her details being displayed on the screen beside them. Pyrrha looked to her right, eyes landing on the screen as it displayed details such as her height, blood type and weight as well as the colour of her space suit which she wore. Pyrrha smiled proudly at her girlfriend, as she stepped off of the scanner. "That's incredible, Stell." She hummed.

"Hey I was on my way to the electrical room. I have some rewiring to do, wanna come?" The redhead asked. "Sure."

Pyrrha then reached her hand out, gently caressing Stella's cheek, "Is everything okay?" She asked, as she could tell her girlfriend seemed shaken up. Stella sighed, placing her hand against Pyrrha's. "I think I'm just overwhelmed..." She confessed.

"Earlier when the oxygen depleted.. my first thought is that I was going to lose you." The Valentine said, moving her and Pyrrha's hands away from her face, and instead interlacing their fingers. Pyrrha offered her love a soft smile, "We'll be fine hun, we have no problem fixing the oxygen machine." She insisted, hoping to settle her nerves.

With that, the Nikos and Valentine girls left medbay, hand in hand. "You know.. we have a really smart crew.. full of capable and intelligent people." Pyrrha explained, before looking to her girlfriend. "Nothing can go wrong."

As they turned a corner, heading into electrical, Stella gave Pyrrha a thankful smile, as she was grateful for her girlfriend. Pyrrha smiled back, before turning around, her eyes widening in surprise and fear.

It was at that moment the redhead realised, anything could really go wrong.

Stella stood next to her girlfriend, trying to figure out why she'd stopped walking. Her eyes followed Pyrrha's and froze as she found on the ground, dead, was Ruby Rose.

The pinkette let out a horrified scream, as she looked at the pale face of her sister figure, who was now dead. The Rose girl was laying in a pool of her own blood, as there was a large cut on her throat, which gave away that she had bled to death.

"Ruby.." Stella managed to say, in almost a whisper. Pyrrha let go of her hand to cover her own mouth in shock. "Who would do such a thing?!" She stammered, looking to the pinkette who was now crying. "I— I don't know!" She cried.

"What's going on?" A voice asked, as Stella and Pyrrha turned around to see Abra, who had raced over to the pair as she heard Stella scream. "R-Ruby?!" The golden haired girl blurted, before looking to the girlfriends in complete shock and surprise.

Stella couldn't keep it together, as tears were rushing down her cheeks, she just wanted to cry out in frustration. She couldn't believe one of her own crewmates— friends even, had murdered the sweet, innocent girl.

"Abra, can you please gather everyone into the cafeteria?" Pyrrha asked as Abra gave a nod, "Of course." With that, she left.

Pyrrha turned back to look at Stella, "Cmon babe, we need to tell the others." She said, trying to keep calm, though she also wanted to just cry. Stella gave a nod, not saying anything as Pyrrha put at arm around her, and they left the electrical room in a hurry to alert everyone else about the situation.

Everyone was gathered in the cafeteria, sitting and standing around the tables, with concerned expressions in their faces. Stella closed the doors behind them with a slam, making sure they were all closed inside.

"Guys, what is going on?" Jaune asked, as he looked over at the three distraught girls. Stella looked at Yang, her best friend. Yang and Ruby were practically her sisters, she didn't want to break this news to Yang.. especially as she was still in denial herself, despite seeing her body

"R..Ruby.." Stella stammered, before quickly looking away from Yang. The yellow haired girl's eyes widened as she looked at her best friend with a worried expression, "What about Ruby??" She asked, impatiently. "We found Ruby... dead, in the electrical room." Pyrrha sadly explained, as the couple watched everyone's faces drop.

"No.. no.. no no no.." Yang took a step back and shook her head. She wanted to accuse the pair of lying, but she knew the Valentine would never lie to her, and so she trusted Pyrrha too. "Oh my god.." Yang choked out, as tears filled her eyes, she felt like her heart had completely shattered. Blake reached out to put her hand on Yang's shoulder, but the Xiao Long pulled away. "Who would do such a thing!?" Yang asked, her voice unsteady as she now cried.

The cafeteria doors opened and Leon and Nova, who were hand in hand, as well as Elena entered the room. Everyone turned to them, but the trio looked upset and puzzled. "We didn't find anybody else aboard the ship.. and nothing on the cameras suggests that we have an outsider on this ship." Leon explained, as Nova squeezed his hand.

"This doesn't make any sense.." Miles confessed, as Weiss frowned. "So if there are no outsiders on this ship.. who would have killed Ruby?" Adam asked, as a few people frowned, feeling like they already knew the answer to that.

Pyrrha looked to Stella, who seemed hesitant to speak. "Stell?" The redhead asked as Stella looked up at everyone now, "I think there is an imposter among us."
