06 | Help from a familiar stranger

"I need some help!" Terra nearly screamed as she came roaring through the door, Jeongguk stumbling behind her, being pulled by the tight leash around his neck.

When the man behind the counter saw what was going on he quickly ran over to Terra and took the leash from her, immediately loosening it around the hybrid's neck. He then looked sternly back at Terra.

"Ma'am, please do not keep your hybrid in a leash. These are meant for animals."

"Then I do not see the problem, sire." She said, looking the man dead in the eyes.

"Hybrid's are not animals, ma'am."

Terra rolled her eyes before snatching the leash from his hand.

"Well this one is. He's bad and feral! A disgrace!"

Jeongguk didn't know what was going on. The two humans kept on yelling at each other. His ears started to get sensitive.

"Ma'am, call down."

"NO! I NEED A BETTER COLLAR!"

Jeongguk whimpered.

"Ma'am, bunny hybrids can't handle too much noise. Please lower your voice. You're hurting him."

"I will only lower my voice if I decide to! You are nobody to tell me what to do!" Terra stomped her foot and looked around for another collar. She then found a shock collar and snatched it from its place. The man widened his eyes.

"Ma'am, do not put that on him!"

"I can do what I want! Like I said, you are no one to tell me what to do and what not to!"

Terra then turned towards the little bunny hybrid and tore off his collar and leash and forced the shock collar on. Jeongguk began to squirm and whimper loudly. He could feel tears starting to form in his eyes.

"STOP!" The man tried but to no avail.

Jeongguk was now full-on crying. He could feel Terra try to hold him in place and put the leash back on but he couldn't handle it. He tore himself free from her grip and ran out of the door. He ran and ran, tears streaming down his cheeks until he tripped and scraped his knee. It didn't bleed but it did hurt. He quickly got up and continued to run until he found a small alleyway. He ran into it and slid down against some kind of tall, brown wooden fence that separated the alleyway in two. He sat, clenching the collar in his hands, trying to rip it off but quickly gave up. He let out a broken sob and buried his head in his arms that rested on his up-pulled knees.

His small scrape stinged. He remembered how darling and honey once had helped him clean his wound and took care of him when he had fallen outside.

Jeongguk came crying through the door. Darling and honey quickly got up from the sofa and ran over to the small hybrid.

"What happened, bun?" Honey asked, concern laced in his voice. He didn't exactly expect an answer. It was more like a comfort-question. He got up and ran out for a towel as darling lifted Jeongguk up on her hip and gently swayed him in her hold while muttering sweet nothings and caressed his soft hair and ears, Jeongguk still crying. Honey then came back with a small towel and guided his wife and hybrid inside the bathroom and over to the sink. Darling gently put Jeongguk down on the counter and pecked his cheeks and dried away his tears. Honey wet the towel and gently dabbed it on the little hybrid's bare, wounded knee. Jeongguk sniffled softly and held tightly onto darling. Honey then finished cleaning the small wound so he put away the towel, put a small plaster on and leaned forward to press a small, gentle kiss on his knee just beside the scrape.

"There you go, bun. Now your knee is as good as new." He said and smiled softly while ruffling his hair. Jeongguk sniffled one last time before copying his owner's smile, making the couple chuckle. They then both engulfed the bunny in a warm hug and kissed the crown of his head, making him break into a fit of giggles. They cuddled on the sofa for the rest of the day, content in each other's embraces.

Jeongguk's heart clenched at the memory, which didn't make sense. Nothing had changed between him and his owners, so why did it hurt? Nothing had changed, right?

He continued to cry, for how long, Jeongguk didn't know. He then sniffled and dried away the tears that had run down his cheeks as well as the newly-falling ones but let out a shriek when he heard a familiar, deep voice speak up.

"Didn't expect to see you here, bun."

Jeongguk quickly dried the rest of his tears before looking up at the voice. The tiger hybrid still had the same button up and black trousers on, his intimidating tail swinging gracefully behind him.

"Well, surprise then."

The brunette chuckled and jumped down from the fence, landing in front of the other, completely oblivious to the fact that the other had just bawled his eyes out.

"What brings you here?"

Jeongguk hesitated a bit before slowly grabbing the shock collar and tugging lightly at it.

"O-oh."

Jeongguk looked to the side, fiddling with his fingers. "C-could you... help me remove it?" The bunny looked up at the tiger with pleading doe eyes and big ears lying down flat on his head and a slight pout formed on his cherry lips.

The tiger looked at him a bit, clearly contemplating whether or not to help the poor thing. He didn't normally do things like this, or just favors in general. He had a little internal fight with himself but then sighed and gave in.

"Fine. But only because you helped me. A favor for a favor!"

A big bunny grin then appeared on the other's face.

"Thank you!" He said and bowed to the other.

The tiger only chuckled and turned around, starting to walk out of the alleyway. "Come on then, bun. I might know someone who can help." He said as he motioned for Jeongguk to follow him. The bunny hybrid quickly, though clumsily got up and hurried after the other, meanwhile the tiger was trying his best to hide the stupid, adoring grin that had appeared on his face.
