"You got out really late today, did something happen?" My grandfather asked. "I was just having trouble starting my painting.... that's all," I smiled. He nodded at my response and I started to go upstairs to my bedroom. I closed the door and sat in my bed for a bit. "Cake time!!!" I cheered. I pulled a box from under my bed and saw a slice left. I usually kept food in my room ...for inspirational purposes. Sitting on the floor, I started to eat the slice while still thinking about today. Maybe tomorrow I could ask him for his contact information so that we could text? Or maybe that's too forward? He is a serious guy, and I wouldn't want him yelling at me in annoyance.

I'm susceptible to those things, and I know I would make a fool of myself to just burst into tears. "Maybe tomorrow I'll hide cheese in here? Or maybe that would smell fast?" I laughed.

The next day, I found myself looking around for Ludwig. We were both seniors, so it was difficult to find him for some reason. I should have had at least one class with him, but I guess not.

During my lunch break, I decided to start my painting in the art room. I wasn't famished right now, so it was fine. I knocked on the door, opening it slowly to see if anyone was inside. "Hey! I was looking for you," a voice spoke. Opening the door wider, I stepped inside to face that person. I didn't recognize him at all. "Hmmm? I think you have the wrong person," I laughed nervously. The boy turned around, and his eyes widened. "Oh! My bad, here I'll leave you be."

He was looking around nervously as I walked in to take a seat. "Who were you looking for?" I asked. "My friend Alfred. He is about this tall, with blonde hair... and uh.... glasses I think? I'm bad with faces." He laughed. "Well... there are a lot of tall blondes here," I smiled. He started to laugh at the realization and nodded.

"My name is Honda Kiku, but just call me Kiku"  he smiled nervously. I could tell he was also a quiet person as well. Although I wanted to scream, shout, and hug him, I knew I couldn't just do that. "My name is Feliciano ... but you can call me Feli" I smiled. "Were you waiting for someone?"

"Ummm.... no, I usually come here to paint. However, I met this student yesterday, and I have no way to talk to him. I just wanted to try and find him." I explained. I placed all my art supplies on the table and started to prep my canvas. "Oh really? What's his name? Maybe I know him." He smiled lightly. He didn't seem much of a type of person to smile, but I could see he was trying. "His name is Ludwig."

"Oh! I know him. For lunch, he usually eats outside between those two large trees that block that one entrance," he pointed out. "Oh wow! Thank you. Maybe tomorrow I will go talk to him." I didn't want to be too annoying. "Okay-.." he was cut off.

"Kiku!! Dude! Sorry to keep you waiting." I boy cheered, coming into the room. I couldn't help but smile and laugh at his excitement. It's been a while since I was like that; it seemed so fun. The thought suddenly dropped as I remembered all the times' people bullied me for being happy and excited.

I looked down at my feet as I twirled a stencil on my finger. "Who is this?"
"His name is Feli, and he likes painting," Kiku said, nodding seriously. "Painting, huh? I don't mean to brag, but I'm good at drawing." The boy crossed his arms in a cocky way. While also keeping his sense of humor to top it off. "Alfred, no, you can't," Kiku said, annoyed. Alfred started to shuffle through his book bag and suddenly took out a lined paper. "See!! I drew kiku last period!!" He cheered.

"Why the hell did you draw me?" Kiku said, uncomfortable. "Because you remind me of those old Scrolls from long ago." Alfred smiled. I soon started to laugh as he gave me his drawing. It was more of a giggle from how terrible it was. "Hey! What's so funny" he laughed. "Oh, nothing.... I think it captures all of his good features," I smiled, handing the paper back.

"You seem pretty nice! How come we have never seen you around?"
"Umm.... well, I have to work on my art a lot, so I usually stay in the art room or at home. I'm not in any clubs either, and I take many of the college classes they offer. Those classes are limited on how many students can be in them. I think my English class has only eight students." I explained.

Their mouths both dropped, and Alfred looked to Kiku. "You are smart! How come you aren't in anything!" Alfred whined. "I take the honor courses for high school. I would rather wait for college to start getting credit"  Kiku rolled his eyes at him. "Oh! But those classes are great too! I wanted to be in regular honors.... but I-.... couldn't," I said slowly.

My classes had a lot of boring people in them. People who only studied all the time, people who never played a game with friends, people who are at the top. Then there I was, not taking anything seriously because of my art. It's no wonder people always thought that I thought I was better than them. I never took anything seriously besides art, and it showed. "Well! How about we hang out sometime? My friends are throwing a party, and it will be nice to see you stop by for a bit."

"It's more of a small get-together; you have to be invited to go," Kiku pointed out. "Can I have your number?" Alfred asked. My heart soon wanted to leap out of my chest. "Yes! Of course," I smiled, showing him my number, and they both put it on their phones. This was the first phone number to ever be on my phone. It made me extremely happy.
