Raven's P.O.V
I've never been filled with more emotions than I am right now. Being stuck in a dark place with no rules, rhyme, or reason to it has left me helpless. I've got no clue how Brooks been handling this and asking her would only lead to more awkward conversations, since I screwed up our once flawless friendship. All I know for sure is that we're both terrified and that Evans, the guy that's elusively appears is here, standing in front of us and I want to make him burn, but my legs have turned to jelly. I've never been a coward, but I swear today I might have to give that persona a twirl.
Evans dusts himself off and crosses his arms,"I'm guessing you'd like some answers?" He says, staring at us with his hazel eyes, which were hard not to stare at.
I bite my lip,"That...that would be nice." Look at me. Pathetic! I can't even give a good comeback.
Brooklyn on the other hand, can't get one word out she just nods over and over till he finally says:
"Okay. I'll tell you why you're here and where exactly 'here' is. You're all stuck in my head, a dream to be exact."
What? What?
"How?" I ask, wondering if maybe I'm high or this is all an elaborate prank.
"That makes less since than seeing you here." Brook says.
Evans flips his ash blonde hair out of his face and smirks,"Look. I'm laying the facts down in front of you. You can choose whether or not you'll use it, I'm just trying to help you survive..."
Survive? What does he mean survive?
"Sur-" I start to say before Brook shushes me and whispers:
"Let him finish."
Ouch. Okay then...
Evans smiles at Brook this time,"Thank you. You're stuck in my dream because my power is to bring people together, laugh if you'd like, but I'm saying it like it is. Ya' see my ancestry leads back to witches of different capabilities. I heal people, but funny thing is, it's emotionally--" I cut Evans off.
"What type of crap is this? Wait. So Brook and I are here because you have to bring us together? That's so stupid. Bringing any other charity cases to make yourself feel better over here?" I yell, in anger.
I can't believe this is why I'm here!!
Evans groans,"Actually, there will be others coming down here. Classmates of course, because guess what? You're not the only with problems and I'm here to solve them. So, hey don't accept my help, but if you don't...you may not live!!"
"Not...live?" Brook says, looking fearful, as she should.
"We can die in... a dream?" I ask, as my hopes for escaping slowly disappear.
Evans eyebrows arch inward and honestly that alone made me question my choice of words.
He cleared his voice and glared at me as he did it,"Anyways. The answer is yes, you can die here. To keep the love alive, while you all are here you'll be facing obstacle courses that can make or break you. Now to add my own little twist. You see, Raven remember that note that had once appeared on your desk, asking you out on a date, which you rudely rejected?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Well, I think it's about time you realize that was me and to say the least, I'm not a happy camper. Anyways, when some of your classmates show up, your goal is to help Elliot Kent and Khloe Mars. They have a few secrets and I need you to figure it out and report it to me, got it pip squeak?" Evans says, with a superior grin on his face.
I nod, realizing debating with him is meaningless.
"Now, onto the lovely Brooklyn...."
Dang. He's got dirt on everyone!!
Brooklyn's P.O.V
Out of all the awkward and uncomfortable situations I've been in, I'd say this one's at the top and I've been in some pretty situations. I walked into the boys locker room once and tried to play it off like I was the new kid, when in reality I just wanted to know what it looked like and I didn't think anyone was inside--short story I was wrong--Oh, I've got more!! Once I fell down the stairs, there were twelve stairs and I had to sneeze and I lost my balance and I fell all the way down and oh guess who was wearing a skirt that day?! The list goes on and on, but I'll save myself the embarrassment. Back to the problem at hand...
Evans looks at me with a certain since of pleasure that he seemed to indulge in too much, It seemed evil, like he'd been planning this for days to no need. This is definitely a sign of a psychopath, gaining pleasure from others suffering. Good looks aside, this dude is waiting this out for no valid reason.
I finally raise my head and look up at him slowly,"Y-yeah?"
He smirks, a sinister one and that sends a shiver down my spine. This isn't fair, he's sexy and intimidating!!
"Remember when I saw you in the boys locker room? I promised not to say anything, but I never said for what cost--"
"Cost?" I ask, feeling my throat dry up.
"Yes. When Veronica, the queen bee shows up. I need you to kill her!"
What? No.
I let a nervous laugh escape my mouth,"Y-you're not serious. You can't be. Are you?"
Evans brushes his hair out of his face,"Of course, I am sweetheart. Don't take it to personally. You don't like her either, so it shouldn't bother you too much. Any questions?"
But before either Raven or I could say anything else, he disappeared in a puff of smoke...
He wants me to kill someone, I can't believe he wants me to kill someone.
Raven kicks a rock in frustration,"Is he serious? No, he can't be..."
I crossed my arms,"Let's face facts. We're stuck in this idiots dream, we need to become --I say this next part in a mocking tone-- "best friends", and in order for us to be able to leave we need to obey his orders!"
Raven chuckled dryly,"Oh, and don't forget that we can die in here and there are people out to get us!!"
I kicked a rock this time,"Ahhh. Yes, we can die...in a DREAM!!"
Raven shrugs,"So, I guess we'll be here for a while. Do you think we'll be able to find shelter?"
I'm in a crabby mood today, so I spout a little sarcasm,"I mean anything's possible as long as you believe it is. Use your imagination!"
Raven rolled my eyes,"With pleasure. If there's any chance it could help, then I'm down. I wish for a place to stay along with some good food because I skipped breakfast and I've been starving all day." Raven teasingly says aloud.
We both laughed at how desperate we were being, but it all stopped when things started to appear.
It was a sign, It said:
----> Dreaming Central
<---- Fast foods & Hotels
Both Raven and I couldn't believe what had just happened.
After a few minutes, Raven shrugs and says,"Well, [insert an unholy word here] isn't this place dandy?"
