Raven's P.O.V
At this point, I'll believe that Santa Claus is real because I'm stuck in a psychopaths dream and apparently if I say I want something, It'll come true. Not everything, but a lot of things. That's exactly what Brook and I have been testing for the last hour, as we've been walking in the direction of food.
"I'd love a Hershey's candy bar, right about now..." Brook said with delight, and within a few seconds she had a candy bar in her hand.
I smiled at how simple that was, so I said,"I wish I had a million dollars right now!"
I was a little disappointed at what I got. I did get money, but it was dream money. Go figure! Not only that, it wasn't a million dollars, it was a hundred. I wanted to scream, but I decided I'd done enough of that today. Brook had this sly grin on her face as she ate that candy bar. She was probably thinking: my candy bar is better than your fake money.
I tried again,"I want a name brand purse to put my money in!!"
They gave me a flimsy paper bag, which I proceed to stomp on the floor, in agony. That brought a little smile to my face as we continued walking.
Brook had finished her candy bar and decided she try her luck again,"I wish....for a chocolate milkshake please!"
You already know what happened. She got exactly what she want, if not extra. In her hands now was a chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, cookies, and a maraschino cherry on top. I was beyond furious, but I simmered down once I saw that we'd made it. My stomach was grumbling and I was tired of drooling over Brooks food, which the dream or whatever wouldn't give me. It was so vacant though; no kids running around outside, no cars roaming the streets going seventy five miles or higher, no idiotic pedestrians walking as slow as possible just to annoy everyone else. It was surreal, but I was also really hungry. So, I went head on into one of the restraints called Lucky Ducky, which didn't sound that appetizing, but it was the closest and I just needed some food. Brook straightened her glasses as we entered the store with a perplexed look on her face.
"You wanna eat here?"
I rolled my eyes,"Look. I'm not in the judgmental mood since food isn't falling out of the sky for me."
She sighed as she sipped on her milkshake.
"Fine." I sprinted to the cashier, looking up at the menu.
"Umm....hi." I said with a forced smile.
The cashier looked oddly familiar when they look up at me and that's when I realized it was another one of our classmates, Kyle Hynes, aka my crush. Yeah, that sounded weird, but it's true and it's been this way since elementary school so of course Brook had this smirk on her face. Kyle's eyes widen when he saw me.
"Raven? Is that you? Can you explain how I got here? Because last I checked......I don't work at Lucky Ducky."
I huffed, I really want to eat. I'm sure Brook could tell, because she chimed in.
"Yeah, we'll answer your questions, but can you get her a lucky burger, a large lucky ducky surprise, and medium fries please? She hasn't eaten all day."
I gave Brooks a quick smile, showing my appreciation and she winked at me in response. Kyle nodded, writing all that down and telling someone the order and I noticed someone's unmistakeable red hair, It was Veronica. The person Brook needed to kill to leave here and my 'friend'.
Brooklyn's P.O.V
Raven looked at me with a worried expression on her face, once we'd both recognized Veronica. I was shaky in the knees, I didn't even have a weapon. What am I even talking about? I just want to go home and cuddle with my mommy. God I really miss my mom, around dinner time, we'd set the table and position the television to where you could see it from the dining room table. She was always so sweet and now.......I'll never see her again because there's no way I'm going to kill Veronica.
No fracking way, I'm not listening to Evans and he can't make me. Or can he? This is all too much and way too soon. Shouldn't she have come tomorrow or weeks from now? Raven sat me down at the table and looked at me with all seriousness. All I could do was give a half hearted smile, in attempt to hide how I'm feeling inside—which was very, very nauseous—, but I don't think Raven was buying it because she said without warning."I wish Brooks had a gun."
I looked over and right there in my hand was a gun. What type of gun? How in the world am I supposed to know? Does it look like I study guns on my free time? I looked up at Raven with horror over my face,"I can't use this, I won't." My hands shaky even now as I hold it. She shakes her head.
"If you don't then you'll be stuck here."
I continued to shake my head no, in response. She rubbed her temples.
"Look, I'm not saying, do it now, just think about it. 'Cause if you don't do it. Then you'll be stuck here and......we won't be able to start over and...."
Raven sighs, a long, heavy sigh. She cares? I don't see how, I don't see why, but she does. After everything that happened and how she ditched me to the curb, I was sure, so sure that she no longer gave a rats tail about me. Honestly, I might be wrong....maybe. With all this going on, how Raven's feeling made me smile slightly and I had to keep from reaching out and giving her a hug because there Veronica was with Raven's order in a paper bag and that's when I choked. Not literally, but I couldn't speak and the gun was quickly put underneath my thigh. Out of sight, out of mind. Veronica dropped the bag with a thud and said in an annoyed voice.
"Did you order a lucky burger, medium fries, and large ducky surprise?"
Raven, her mouth watering, was nodding and eagerly opened the bag. As Raven started to get out her burger, Veronica's expression changed entirely.
"Ray Ray, is that you?"
Raven looks up between, monster sized bites.
"Uh-huh." Veronica then turned to me, with such disgust. I'll never forget how she treated me after I'd tried to fit in. What she said still echoed in my brain: Loser, what exactly are you trying to pull? You look like you're off of one of those people that belong in The Guinness World Record book in the section 'Gone Wrong.' I can't handle this, I don't even wanna look at her. I stood up and muttered,"I'm going to the restroom." Before anyone could comment on that, I was in the restroom so fast and nothing could stop me and the worst part was that I still had the gun in my hand. Now, one thought has been replaying in my head: Maybe I should kill her?
