Chapter 2

     After the entire thing that went down with the rhinos, we ended up setting up camp for the night. "Few I am wiped out"

"that's your shelter?" Manny asked with a raised eyebrow and I simply tilted my head "Hey you're a big guy and a tine cub you need a lot of wood I'm a little guy" Sid tried to defend. "You have half a stick," Manny said as he continued to make his shelter. I was off to the side trying to follow him around. "yea but with my tiny stick and highly evolved brain I shall create fire."

"fascinating."

"We'll see if brains triple browns tonight now won't we, also she is so cute when she tries to follow you, Isn't that right~ Ow," Sid yelped in pain as he took the hand he waved in front of me that I bit.

"All right, that's enough," Manny picked me up before heading into the shelter he built.

Later that night it was storming and as the rain pelted down I could see Sid try and make fire. "Hey, I think I saw a spark," making Sid look hopeful for a moment before giving up and walking over here. "Is there any chance I could squeeze in there with you two Manny old pal?" Sid shivered as he asked.

"Isn't there someone else you could annoy friends, family, poisonous reptiles?"

"Na my family abandoned me, they just kinda migrated without me. You should see what they did last year. They woke up early, tied my hands and feet together, gagged me with a field mouse, blocked the cave door, covered their tracks, and went through water so I'd lose their scent, who needs them anyway." as Sid said that he got comfortable on Manny's tusk and used his trunk as a blanket before being moved. "So what about you, do you have any family, I mean the cub is self-explanatory, but what about you?" As soon as Sid said that Manny picked me off his head and turned around.

"I get it you're tired, we'll talk more in the morning," Sid said before I heard light thumping on the wood above and Sid saying ow a bunch. "Manny! Manfred! could you scooch over just a drop.. oh come on no one falls asleep that fast! Manny!" Once he stopped talking I tried to look over Manny wondering what's going on but he simply covered my eyes telling me to sleep.

In the morning I was awoken by someone moving me around before we set off again. "and this girl said to me if you're going to have an extra mating dance pick a female with the same color pelt, Right, and I thought like wow she is about to go all pray mantis on me, you know what I am saying?" Sid talked while eating an apple, and I was covering my ears as Manny replied "If you find a mate in life you should be loyal or in your case grateful."

"why I think mating for life is stuped and there is plenty of Sid to g-" Sid ended up bumping Into Manny as he and I stared at the lady in the water. "Manny! Manny! *gasp*" the lady then moved slowly towards us and pushed up something wrapped onto the rock and as it started to slide Manny caught it still staring at her.

It looked to be a baby as it opened its eyes. "Look at that he's ok," Sid said before looking back to where the human woman was, "she's gone" after some silence, Manny began to walk away. "Hey, hey, hey aren't you forgetting something?"

"No"

"B-But you just saved him,"

"Yeah well, I am still trying to get rid of the last thing I saved,"

"you can't leave him here," Sid said as he picked up the baby. "look there's smoke his herd must be right up that hill, we should return him,"

"Let's get something straight here ok, there is no we, there never was a we, in fact without me there wouldn't even be a you," Manny said, making Sid step back at how close Manny got to make a point.

"Just up the hill,"

"Listen closely, I'm Not Going," Manny said slowly to make Sid understand as well as using his trunk to mouth his words.

"Fine be a jerk, I'll take care of him," Sid said

"Oh yeah, that's good! you're going to take care of him, You can't even take care of yourself this I gotta see!" Manny said now following Sid.

"Don't worry I will return you, we don't need that meanie weenie mammoth, do we?" he said talking to the baby before looking up then back at us.

Sid walking up to the side of the cliff he keeps attempting to climb. only to hit his head before continuing. "you're an embarrassment to nature, do you know that?" many said while walking closer to the cliff to look up at Sid. "This is cake, I'm fine, I'm fine!" He said before turning back to the ledge and mumbled. Manny steps closer as Sid goes farther up, noticing that the Baby is slipping from Sid's grasp. "Manny!" Sid yield before the baby dropped but just before Manny could grab the falling Baby a saber jumped and caught him.

After that many immediately took the baby from the saber, the saber tried to claw and continued to growl at many but was soon stopped by Manny intimidating him. "Echem I believe that pink thing is mine."

"Um no the pink thing belongs to us," Sid said before falling and hitting his head a couple of times. "Us, You two are a bit of an odd couple"

"There is no us," Manny said as he put me down which immediately caught the sabers attention as I clumsily walked.

"I see can't have one of your own so you want to adopt,"

"Look I am sorry to interrupt your snack but we really got to go," Sid said, dragging the baby away.

"The Baby pleas, I was returning him to his herd,"

"Oh, yea nice try bucktooth,"

"Callin' me a lire," The saber said getting dangerously close to Sid

"I didn't say that,"

"But you were thinking it," The saber got closer to intimidating the sloth more.

"I don't like this cat, he reads minds," Sid said as he tried to whisper.

"Names Diego Friend," Diego introduces

"Manfred and I am not your friend,"

"Fine Manfred. If you're lookin' for the humans your wastin' your time," Diego said as he watched me walk over to the baby and curiously sniff it making them giggle. "Thanks for the advice, now beat it," Manny replied as he picked me back up before turning to Sid "Fine I will help you return the kid to its herd but promise me you'll leave me alone after that."

"Ok Ok deal What's your problem?"

"You are my problem."

"I think you're stressed, so you eat too much. It's hard to get fat on a vegan diet," Sid mentioned to Manny while messing with the baby. "I am not fat. It's all this fur. It makes me look poofy." I simply just covered my ears so I could get some extra sleep.
