Ice Age

Chapter 6

      As we walked through the cave I tripped and fell behind a bit before running to Diego. "Guys, stick together. It's easy to get lost in here." Diego mentioned it to the others while watching me go a little bit ahead. Once up ahead I spotted a Ufo in the ice and tilted my head, this gave Diego and Manny to catch up to me. Diego grabbed the scruff of my neck so I would continue walking. Manny turned his head to look towards Sid, "Will you keep up, Please? Hard enough to keep track of them of one baby."

     I was typing over Ice that had grooves in it when I was hit and started to slide. Turns out I was hit by the baby as we slid and dropped into a hole and continued to slide. I could hear the others scream as they slid after us. The kid kept a tight hold on my small body as we slid down, Sid was the one who slid behind us as we went into the air. The Kid let me go when Sid granted him but was quick to regrade me when Sid fell into a hole and held me close as I was panicking a little. He then let go of me and we went into two different lanes, he flew into the air as Sid managed to grab me before Sid freaked out holding me tighter causing my claws to hook onto him as we slid into a wall.

"Woho Yeah, who's up for round two?" Diego said, punching Manny on his arm. "*coff* Tell the kid to be more careful."

"That's nice and all but could you get her to retract her claws?" Sid asked as he pointed to me still clinging onto his shoulder. Diego grabbed me and set me down once we entered a cave with drawings.

We then enter into a larger portion of the cave we see even more drawings of animals. "Look. Tigers." Sid pointed to the drawings where he was as I went over to see why the kid was hiding his face. "no, it's ok, it's ok. Look, the tigers are just playing tag with the antelope...With their teeth."

"Come on, Sid let's play tag. Your it." ignoring whatever Sid was saying after that I ran over to Manny who was still walking. "...You never see any sloths. Have you ever noticed? Oh look, Manny, a mammoth."

     "Oh somebody pinch me." I run over to see since the others are gathering over there. "Hey, hey this fat one looks like you. Oh and he's got a family. And he's happy. Look, he's playing with his kid. See? That's your problem. That's what mammoths are supposed to do." I ignore Sid until Diego manages to shut up, now the three of us are staring at Manny. Manny only moved when he reached out to touch the baby mammoth drawing, after a couple of seconds the baby's hand and Manny's trunk touched. Manny Picked up the baby and hugged him to his face with tears in his eyes. It's a very touching moment and the atmosphere still held the emotions as we started to walk again.

As I was walking beside Manny we spotted something in the distance, "Would you look at that. The tiger actually did it. There's Half Peak. Next stop, Glacier Pass... How could I have ever doubted you?"

     "Did you hear that, little fella? You're almost home... My feet are sweating." Sid said looking down. "Do we need a news flash every time your body does something?" Diego asks as Manny just tells Diego to Ignore him. "Seriously. My feet are really hot." Just as Sid says that we all hear a gurgling sound. "Please tell me that was your stomach," Manny asked while Diego shushed him. "I'm sure it was just thunder. From underground?" Sid questioned unsurely until a blast of hot air came out from behind us.

Diego grabbed me as we all started to run with the ice falling out from under us slowly. Manny and Sid managed to make it across a piece of ice before it collapses but unlucky for me and Diego. They continued to walk until Sid started to move in one place as Diego jumped the gap between the ice. "Wow, I wish I could jump like that."

     "Wish granted," Manny said before kicking him to the other side. Diego threw me onto Manny's back before he jumped as another piece of ice fell behind us. As soon as we made it to solid ground I jumped off Manny's back as he handed the kid to Sid and went back for Diego. The Ice Diego held onto broke and he fell, Lucky Manny caught him and threw him onto the land as the remaining piece of ice Manny was on started to break. The next thing we knew Manny fell with a loud yell before the piece of ice he was on shot up and he fell hard onto the ground.

"Manny, Manny, Manny, Manny, you ok? Come on, come on, say something, anything." Sid said as he ran up to Manny, hearing him mumble something. "What? What? I can't hear you."

"You're standing on my trunk." As soon as Manny said that Sid got off his trunk and celebrated. "Why did you do that? You could have died, trying to save me." I went over to Diego and sat next to him as we tried to gather our strength to continue moving. "That's what you do in a herd, you look out for one another."

"Well, thanks."

"I don't know about you guys but we are the weirdest herd I've ever seen," Sid said as we all just took in the moment before we had to start moving.
