(Rosie's POV)

There are three things you need to know before I start.

1. I'm Rosalia (Rosie) Helen Diggory and don't you forget it, 2. I'm 11 years old, 3. Today is Friday the 30st of August, two days before I leave for Hogwarts.

"Ros, come down stairs!" that is my older brother Cedric Diggory, calling me for breakfast. "Now!"

I jumped off my bed and ran as fast as I could (not actually that fast) to prevent him from getting angrier.

"There is the flower!" my father (Amos Diggory) exclaimed, handing me a piece of toast covered in strawberry jam.

As we sat eating out breakfast the weird sisters started playing on the radio.

"Rosie, Have you finished packing yet," My mother (Eloise Diggory nee. Abbott) called a few minutes later.

"Almost mama," I called back, finishing the last of my toast. I was a quick eater.

"Then go finish it, we are leaving for the Leaky Cauldron at 12 o'clock." I placed my plate into the dishwasher, before walking up the stairs to my room.

It was small but that just made it cozy. Against the wall to the door was a double bed and across from that was a writing table. Above the table was a Holyhead Harpies poster. On the farthest wall was a large window with a sofa and pillows. It was small but home.

I walked over to my bed which had clothes, parchment, ink and other supplies all over it and a large trunk with the engraved letters R.H.D in the middle.

After two hours of packing and repacking, I was nearly ready to go "Just need to pack Mo, and then we're done," I said to myself.

I placed the stuffed cow toy my brother had given me when I was one into my trunk, closed the lid and clicked the flaps.

I picked up the letter on my bedside table, my Hogwarts acceptance letter. It had been delivered by a lovely brown owl.

On the day I received of my letter, I was playing quidditch and it swooped into the house just as I had scored the winning goal.

After re-catching the quafle we (Me,Cedric and our cousin Hannah Abbott) ran inside to see who the letter was for.

On the table in nice ink was a letter addressed to Miss R. Giggory. I slowly opened it.

Inside was a piece of parchment informing me I had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Obviously I had heard of Hogwarts before, my brother already attended it. But now I was going and creating adventures for myself.

"Rosie, we need to go, hurry up!" my mum called from the front door. Oh dear I had been day dreaming!

I grabbed my trunk, and the cage which my new cat Penny then jumped into.

Once I had sprinted down the stairs I threw my bags into the little car that we owned and jumped into the back seat.

"Ready!" I shouted to my family who was already in the car. "Ok let's go," said my dad, who turned the keys and started the engine.

I turned around to see the small house I call home, fade into the distance.

Two hours later, we arrived at the Leaky Cauldron. The hours after this were a whirlwind.

After dropping off our bags to our room, Cedric and I went and explored diagon alley (despite already going there earlier in the summer holidays).

We stopped by at shops like Rosa Lee Teabags, Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour and Broomstix.

After we had dinner in the bar of the Leaky Cauldron, we headed upstairs to make sure we had everything we needed for the school year: Robes, Parchment, ink, quills etc....

As I lay on the bed that night, I imagined the fun and adventure I was going to have at Hogwarts - like in the muggle movies - and all the brilliant friends I was going to meet.

Little did I know of the truths in my dreams.
