We are glad to have you here, rotorooters! Congratulations on your win! 😁  We, the Stardazzle team, are excited to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with you! First, let's get to know you and your writing journey.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Haha! I still don't consider myself much of a writer. Though I started writing poetry and short stories when I was 6 or so. I've always loved reading, and writing down my ideas has come hand-in-hand with that.

Well, reading and writing are Siamese twins. So on a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?

It really depends, because I'm a stay-at-home-mom and my kids are still babies. I write whenever I have time, which is usually when the kids are sleeping if I'm not doing other things around the house. On my best days, I'll spend 2 hours writing.

Oh, so scheduling must be important then! Are there lots to do before you start writing the story, or do you prefer to dive in headfirst?

I'm not a plotter, but not entirely a pantser either. I like to jot down the main events of a story and then fill in the rest as the characters dictate. But sometimes that means major points change along the way, and the ending turns out completely different than originally planned, and that's okay! Usually, it's better that way.

Ahh, so you are a planster like many of us here in the stardazzle community. 😂 So when you are writing an emotionally draining (or sexy, or sad, etc.) scene, how do you get in the mood? How does that process work for you?

I actually let my mood dictate the story for the most part, if that makes sense.

Well, it makes sense to me.😅

Yeah, because of this, I often write chapters out of order depending on the mood I'm in.

A pro move if you ask me. 😂😂 Also because that's how I do it.

And how do you deal with the emotional impact of a book (on yourself) as you are writing the story?

This is a great question because it is important!

I've put a lot of myself into my books and sometimes it triggers negative feelings and old traumas. I try to step away from the chapter for a little while, and let myself feel loved by spending time with my kids or doing something else that makes me happy, like reading, cooking, or baking.

A great way to remind yourself what's real.

Do you hear from your readers much? What do they say?

I love interacting with readers, and I'm very lucky that so many leave comments and react to my work, and some even send messages or leave posts on my Wattpad profile or Instagram. I'm even luckier that the overall response has been SO positive. So many people have said they've felt a wide range of emotions while reading, and that they both relate and feel strongly about various characters. It's very encouraging, and I'm so grateful!

We are glad to hear that. As writers, readers are special to us.

What is the most difficult part about writing for you?

Self-doubt, I think. It's very exposing to publish writing you care so deeply about, and I have anxiety, so it can feel overwhelming to put my stuff out there.

Oh, that must be tough to deal with but we are glad you still manage to find ways to motivate yourself so you can share your work with your readers.
