I open my eyes, I failed the exams for Aobai Johsai, so I've been going to Karasuno for a year now, this is my second year... So we'll get new players this year. I sigh, I get dressed and head downstairs where my mom is placing the breakfast on the table humming. She's been sick for a while, but said not to worry about it, obviously I can't ignore it and quickly set the rest of the table, filling our glasses with juice.

"Oh Tobio you know you don't have to honey." She says smiling.

"Well I wanted to mom so let me do it." I say back as we sit down.

I eat the food and hurry towards the door, I dress up and grab my volleyball bag. I run to the school and make it to the gym for 9 am. School starts in 1 hour so it's plenty to train, I start to set against the wall since the others won't set with me.

"Yo Kags, sup!" Nishinoya says smiling.

He's a 2nd year with me since he repeated the year, I look at him annoyed, this guy has way too much energy.

"Look at my wolf, isn't he cool!" He says pointing to his spirit animal.

"Yeah, he is..." I say impressed.

Wolves are for people with strong loyalty, witch doesn't surprise me, Nishinoya is a really loyal basterd. Even with my temper, he still became my pretty much bestfriend last year. I lower to the wolf's eye level, he stands up and licks my face, making me growl in disgust.

"Ah gross!" I yelled as he laughed.

Nishinoya had never brought his wolf to school because he was too affectionate, but he told us he missed his furry buddy alot last year, so we had told him to bring it to school. Guess he decided to do so this year, my 18th birthday is in 3 months, so I'll only get mine then. I'm not really excited, my mom gives me all the compagnie I need already. Nishinoya then ask me to spike for him, I do as he receives over and over again until the bell rings for class. The school ends and I head to gym again, I look in boredom as they have a practice match together, only 3 first years aplied. It sucks because we need a new ace now, but nobody has showed enought potential for it... Sugawara, Daichi and Asahi are gone now... All that's left is me, Nishinoya, Yamaguchi,  Tsukkishima and Tanaka, who also repeated his class... I mean Yachi is still there too since she's a second year, but she's the manager... Oh and then there's Naru Kashi, our current setter, this blond head with blue eyes is a total annoyance, he wants me out of the team when he came in last year... But the other's refused... Then there's Shoto Faiaaisu, he's our left blocker... He's weird and very cold towards us... He also somehow has two hair color witch is red and white with a nasty scar on his left eye. He never talks to us so I don't know if it's a natural or made hair color, not that I care... Tsukkishima his our right blocker... but no one is our middle blocker, witch makes us kinda weak compared to the teams. Practice ends and I head home, I'm bored and annoyed really, Nishinoya is walking back with me, he wished I was not so controlling on the court so that I could play. I don't care, they're the ones that are too slow... I arrive home and wave him goodbye before entering the house. The lights are off, how weird...

"Mom?" I asked as I entered the house.

I walk everywhere in the house, she wasn't there... But her car was in front of the house!? I run to the phone where a message has been left, I click for it to play.

"Hello there, my name is Kamia, I'm a nurse at the hospital in town, your mom was administrated to our terminal aisle today after being brought to the hospital by ambulance... Dear Tobio... She was diagnosed with general cancer, I'm sorry but she has 2 months to live and will now reside here... If you hear this message, please come to our hospital. My condolences in advance."
