Y/n sat in the living room, trying their best to stay up for when Derek gets home. Almost passing out a few times, they finally decided to call it a night and head to bed. They'd see him in the morning. Y/n snuggled into the blankets, she reluctantly went to sleep with a bad feeling in her gut. Derek sighed as he plopped down at the bar. Ordering a drink to kill some of his stress. A girl snaked her way through the bar and sat right next to him. "Hi there," she greeted flirtatiously. Derek had already downed his drink and got another one. Their last case was a doozy and had really taken a toll on him. Derek smiled and greeted the girl back. They spent their time talking. A lot of drinks later and Derek had let the fact that he had a girlfriend slip his mind. The girl at the bar had gotten closer to him and took her chances with kissing him. Derek, being completely plastered, responded by kissing the girl back. One thing led to another and to her apartment they went.

*The Next Morning*

Y/n woke to the other side of her bed still empty. Had he not come home, she thought to herself. She got up and dressed, looking around her apartment, but no sign of Derek. Derek had woken early that morning to a call from Hotch, but when he turned to the girl next to him, not being his girlfriend, his heart sunk. He quickly slipped out of the bed and got dressed, heading straight to work.

Y/n was cleaning her apartment when she heard a knock at the door. Stopping what she was doing, she headed to the door, revealing a random girl when she opened it. "Can I help you?" Y/n asked gently. "Is Derek here?" She asked. Y/n's eyebrows furrowed, "No, he's not, is there something I can help you with?" she regretted asking. "Oh sure, he left this at my house this morning, so I wanted to return it," she smiled innocently handing Y/n Derek's wallet. Y/n slowly took it before meeting the girls eyes, "he was with you last night?" she asked, her heart aching at the thought. "Yeah, I hope you don't mind that I stole your roommate," she said before walking off. Y/n closed the door, the tears finally escaping her eyes. Sobs wracked her body at the thought of him cheating on her. After crying for a while, she wasn't sad anymore, no she was angry. Whipping her eyes furiously, she threw his wallet on the counter, and continued to angrily clean.

After work, Derek came home. He wanted to forget what happened and just be in the presence of his girlfriend. Upon entering the apartment, he took in account of the cleanliness. Y/n sat in a chair, a glass of wine in hand, and facing the door. "Babe?" he questioned upon seeing her. "Have fun last night?" she asked with a bitter smile. Derek's heart dropped, "what?" he questioned. Y/n reached over and grabbed his wallet off the counter and threw it at him. Derek caught it and examined it before looking back at her. "Your little friend brought it by this morning, saying that you left it at her place this morning," She set her wine glass down before standing. "Y/n-" "Stop," she cut him off before he could come up with some stupid excuse. "Was she good?" she asked, anger in her voice. He didn't answer, he couldn't find something to say. Y/n tilted her head to the side and scoffed, "I really hope she was, I hope she rocked your fucking socks off, I hope she was WORTH LOSING ME OVER," she yelled, hurt evident in her voice. Derek had tears in his eyes, "Please," he whispered. "No Derek, I'm done, I don't care if you were drunk or if you weren't, we're done, so if you don't mind getting out of my apartment." Derek started to come closer to Y/n, to beg her, to tell her he was sorry and he didn't mean to hurt her. "Don't," she backed up slightly, putting her hand in front of him. "Don't you dare," she had angry tears in her eyes. Derek stopped, "Y/n please," he begged. "Get out!" she yelled. Derek had a few tears leave his eyes before he granted her wish and left. As soon as he was out of sight, Y/n sank to the ground and sobbed. Many tears and glasses of wine later, there was a knock at the door. Y/n groaned, "Derek, I said go away," she snapped while pulling the door open, but instead of Derek being there it was some creepy looking man. "Who are-" but before she could finish talking, the man hit her over the head. Y/n collapsed on the ground. The man picked her up, making sure her neighbors hadn't come out. Most criminals make mistakes, he left her front door cracked and her phone was discarded on the floor.
