Chapter 10

"Dick Roman has risen to the top very quickly. Due to his previous position, many more are being thrown into his lap faster than he can keep track of."

Farrah sighed and put her head in her hands. It was all her fault. "Hey. What's up?"

Closing the tab on her computer, Farrah shrugged at Dean. "Nothing. I'm fine. How's the job?" She leaned back nonchalantly in the cheap wooden chair that the motel provided.

"Fine." He sat across from her. "Sam told me what you said to him after you came back."

"He did?" she said in surprise. How could he?

"Yep. Told me that you were at Crowley's and that you went to hell. Seems like you blew up a bit."

She nodded, relived he hadn't spilled about the house. "More than you know."

"What do you mean?"

With a sigh she pushed the top down on her laptop. "I kinda did blow up at Carly. Uh...I told her who I was."

"You what? With the leviathans already, you just added to our problems! If you ever go there again, she's going to kill you! Or worse, get someone else to do it! Round them all up against you!"

"Would you just listen?" Farrah shouted. "I told her not to tell anyone! I told her to keep it a secret and to keep me away from any demons suspecting me! I told her who I was and made her protect me! I'm not an idiot, Dean! I know how to protect myself! I have for my entire life!"

"You had your mother and friends there!" he shouted back, his anger rising.

"No! No, I didn't! Didn't you know? My mother practically abandoned me! She was a hollow shell! I raised myself! I mourned her death alone! I found you! I got close to you! I forced my way into your life so that I'd have some family! I kept Cas from dying for a year! I literally protected myself from demons for a year! I compelled Carly to protect me! I did these things! Not you, not Sam, not Cas, not my mother, and sure as heck not my friends or Crowley!"

"You sure looked like you could protect yourself when you brought leviathans into our world again!"

"I was trying to protect Cas! I didn't know he was bringing a thousand others with him!"

"It's still your fault, Farrah! That won't change!"

She started to quiver with tears and her voice faded down to a whisper. "You're disappointed in me."

"Yes, Farrah! Yes, I am! I'm disappointed, and I'm mad! I spent a year in purgatory after killing Roman, and you brought him back! I won't forgive you for that! You completely destroyed earth, you know that, right?"

"I'll help fix it. I promise."

He still wasn't done; he was mad. "No, you won't! Sam and I don't need you, Farrah! We never have! Just don't get in the way!"

She nodded and looked down. "I'm sorry, Dad."

Tears dripped directly from her eyes to her lap and Dean took a deep breath. "I'm sorry too." Then he walked out.
