Chapter 19

"Go over it one more time."

"Dad, we've been over it a thousand times," Farrah groaned as he drove down the highway.

"Just once more," he insisted.

"Fine. I walk alone around the corner so no one sees the Impala, then ask to see Dick Roman. When I don't see the guy I helped out of purgatory, I'll ask why he was impersonating him. If he gets hostile, I fly out. If he doesn't, I stick around and find the guy that told me he was Roman and see if he trusts me in the slightest. If not, then I get out, but not by flying. But if he does, then I try to see what's going on. Easy enough."

"In theory," he muttered. Pulling off the highway onto a side road, he raised his voice. "I'd feel a heck of a lot better if we had eyes in there."

"I cannot see her," Cas said sadly. "If I could..."

"You can," Farrah said.

"How? The sigils imprinted on your ribs cannot be removed," frowned Cas.

"Dad, can you pull the car over?"

"We're almost there. Can it wait?"

"Sure. I think it'll be bright though."

A few minutes later he pulled to a stop in a random alley and everyone piled out. "What're you planning on doing?" Sam asked.

"Everyone get in the car," she said. Walking to the front, she turned and saw that no one had moved. "I'm serious. Get in. I don't want to accidentally hurt anyone."

"Why?" Dean asked.

"Trust me. Just get in," she sighed.

Sighing, Dean slipped inside, soon followed by Sam and Cas. Once the doors had closed, Farrah said, Castiel, do not open the door, and locked them. Instantly Dean started trying to get out, but she just chuckled.

Farrah took a deep breath. This was going to hurt. Knowing she only had a few minutes before they figured out how to get out, she pressed her fingertips firmly against her chest and let power surge through them.

Farrah, don't! Castiel exclaimed.

Be quiet; I'm trying to help.

Through tightly pursed lips burst a short exclamation of pain. "Farrah!" Dean shouted. She ignored him.

Fire licked at her insides, making her moan and collapse to the ground. Good thing she didn't need to do anything more, just wait.

Farrah, please let me out! Cas pleaded.

It was done. She didn't care; he couldn't do anything now, and they couldn't be hurt if she couldn't do anything. She simply nodded, and that was all he needed to be able to get out.

He hesitated to touch her, afraid that he would only be hurting her worse. Farrah clutched at her abdomen, tears forming in her eyes. It hurt worse now than having them put on. A scream built behind her lips, but she didn't let it out.

As soon as it started, it stopped. Breathing heavily, she sat up and smiled weakly at Cas. "So, now you can find and see me."

"So can every other angel."

Dean finally jimmied the car lock and sprinted over, and he would've scraped his knees if he wasn't wearing jeans. "Farrah, what did you do?" Cas stepped back and let Dean help her to her feet.

"Castiel can see me now when I go in."

He sighed. "And every other angel can find you now."

"Castiel said the same," she chuckled. "Okay, now you can quit worrying. Castiel can watch me and if I can't get out and something goes wrong, you'll know."

"Whoa, are you sure you can do this? You should get some rest. We'll come back tomorrow."

She shook her head. "I'm fine. All the better if I look weak."

"No, not to me. You go in there, and you show them that you're not a pushover. But don't get hurt, okay?"

She nodded. "Duh." He sat on the hood of the car and Sam walked up to her.

Sam said as he hugged her, "Cas may not be able to see you; they could've warded the building against angels. If that's true, I want you to tell us, okay? And please tell him if anything, anything, changes from the plan."

"Of course."

He smiled and stepped back. "Good luck, Farrah."

"Thanks." She grinned and walked toward the mouth of the alley. To herself she sighed and thought, I'm going to need it.
