Lloyd walked behind Morro down the steps. Morro was carrying his basket of laundry down the stairs. Lloyd found it surprisingly easy to ignore what he had seen. He acted as normal as ever.

"Did you fix the shelf?" Lloyd asked.

"The shelf?" Morro questioned.

"Uh, yeah. The one you said fell." Lloyd squinted. Got him.

"Oh." Morro stayed silent for a few seconds. He decided to stick with the lie. "Yeah."

"There's tools in the bathroom?"

"It's just on a nail. The nail slipped out and I twisted it back in." While the sentence was a lie, it was true the shelf was on a nail.

"Oh, gotcha. Thanks."

"For?..."

"Fixing it."

"I'm not stupid."

But you're stupid for lying.

Morro went into the laundry room and went over to an empty washer. He started putting his clothes in it. Lloyd sat at the table behind Morro, across from him so he could still see him. Morro seemed like things were normal, but he looked nervous about something.

"Fuck." He grumbled randomly.

"What?" Lloyd asked.

"I left a shirt upstairs." He remembered.

"It's just a shirt."

"It'll bother me."

"Wash it with my clothes, then." Lloyd offered.

"Okay." Morro agreed. He still looked nervous. He was looking around, as if he were looking for someone else to be there. Lloyd noticed this, but he didn't say anything.

"Done." Morro said once he started the washer.

Lloyd hopped up, following Morro out of the laundry room and back to their dorm. Morro used his key and opened the door, going in and not bothering to hold it open for Lloyd. Lloyd rolled his eyes.

Morro set his basket down and went into the kitchen area, going into the cupboard and grabbing a cup towards the back of wall. He pulled it out and dumped something out into his hand, sighing when not much fell out.

"What are you doing?" Lloyd questioned.

Morro waved three pieces of gum at Lloyd. "Mint."

"Ahh, nice." Why does he keep it in there...? Lloyd thought.

"...You want one, I take it?"

"Uh...I mean, if you wouldn't mind." Lloyd grinned awkwardly.

Morro tossed one to Lloyd. They opened them and threw away the wrappers. Lloyd dropped it in his mouth and started chewing; his eyes instantly watered up and his breath was taken away. He shuddered and spit it out into his hand. It was Freeze Mint...!

Morro raised an eyebrow, chewing it normally, like it didn't bother him.

"You can eat that?!" Lloyd choked.

"You can't?" Morro crossed his arms. "I get it. I don't mind it. I'm used to the taste. I like the feeling it gives, actually."

"How?!"

"I'm stressed." Morro gave a peace sign dramatically for effect.

There it is. "Oh, what about?" Thinking about it, it hit Lloyd. This must be Morro's go to comfort item, like some people do with chocolate.

"Nothing." Morro put the other piece of gum in his mouth, not spitting out the other one. Lloyd couldn't imagine how spicy that was.

"You're out." He commented.

"No shit."

"Do you need more?" Lloyd questioned.

"I'm not addicted to it." Morro rolled his eyes.

"Why are you suddenly scratching like you're anxious?" Lloyd smirked.

Morro's eyes widened, not expecting Lloyd to be paying such attention to detail. "Shut up!"

"Let's go get more." Lloyd offered.

Morro's anxiety rose when he thought about going into public. He didn't show it; he didn't want Lloyd noticing. "No, it's fine."

"I'll go," Lloyd stated.

"Why?" Why would he be nice to me? I'm an asshole. I wouldn't even tell him what's up. Morro thought.

"Well, your nervousness makes me nervous."

"Fair. I'll clean up here." Morro shrugged.

"You don't have to,"

"It's only fair. Payment, I guess."

"Whatever you say." Lloyd grabbed his car keys from the hook by the door and got on his shoes, heading out the door.
