Hello everyone! This is my first Novel. Please comment! They make my day! Love you. Here is the first chapter of this novel. The novel name is I Love You - A Dramione Fanfiction. Hope you like it!
Hermione Granger headed straight into the Hogwarts Express as soon as she entered Kings Cross Station. Being a war heroine, she knew that the press would bother her if she remained outside. She had returned to Hogwarts for her last year, as the previous had been disrupted because of Voldemort and the war. She had received a letter from Hogwarts one morning, when she was in Australia searching for her parents, saying that due to the war, she was excepted back at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She had also received a letter and a badge saying that she was to be Head Girl, should she choose to return. Hermione had immediately jumped at this opportunity to finish her education and pass her N.E.W.T.S.
She found Harry, Ginny, and Ron, already seated in the compartment. "Hey guys! How was summer?" she asked, as she sat down, next to Ron. "Hermione!" Ginny squealed, as she pounced on the brunette and hugged her ferociously. Hermione chuckled and returned the hug. "Hermione! It's been so long! How did it go with your parents?" Harry asked, giving her a warm hug. Hermione's face immediately darkened. "They...They are...I, I couldn't find them...But I'm sure I will next summer" she replied, trying her best to keep her voice neutral. "Oh 'Mione. I'm so sorry...I'm sure you will find them though!" replied Harry and Ginny. Then, Hermione turned to Ron. She cleared her throat and smiled nervously. "It's good to see you Ron" she said, hugging him lightly, but pulling away very quickly. "Yeah, you too, Hermione" he said, with a nervous smile as well. You see, Hermione Granger had once been head over heels for Ronald Weasley and vice versa. They had even dated, after the war, for three months. But then, they slowly drifted apart, after they realised that they loved each other, but not in that way. They loved each other as siblings, that's all. But ever since they broke up, they have always been awkward around each other.
Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione spoke and laughed at silly things. Things were just fine, and like old times, just without the fact that there was no longer a certain Dark Wizard by the name Voldemort, out there to kill them. It was peaceful and calm, and just perfect until things got complicated. "You know...I think Neville and Luna are dating," said Harry. "Nah, that's not possible," said Ginny, dismissing that idea with a wave of her hand. "I think they are cute together," Hermione said. "I agree with Hermione, actually," said Ron. "Well, Neville and Luna do have a lot in comm..." Harry suddenly stopped, mid-sentence, staring at four uncomfortable-looking Slytherins who just entered their compartment.
"Well well well...If it isn't the big bad Slytherins themselves! And what brings you to the compartment of two Blood Traitors, a Mudblood and the one who vanquished Voldy and put your parents in Azkaban?" Ron sneered. "Ron!" said Harry, Ginny, and Hermione together. "What? I- " said Ron. "They may be bad people, but you shouldn't lower yourself to their level," said Hermione, cutting Ron off. Ron nodded curtly, and then turned and glared at Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, and Theodore Nott.
Malfoy cleared his throat nervously. He looked at his companions and gave them a slight glare, but the others just nudged him. "I swear I am going to kill you as soon as we get back to our compartment," he said under his breath. "What do you want Malfoy?" Harry asked, in a bored tone. "Um...hello," Malfoy started, uncertainly. He cleared his throat and continued. "Look, we just wanted to apologize to you...to all of you" he said, looking at all the people in the compartment. He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. "We were jerks, all of us. We were taught about all the blood supremacy shit from when we were kids and we looked down on all of you. The war showed us how wrong we were. We - you know what? I'll just speak for myself...let these idiots do their own apologising. I was a jerk, a prick an arrogant arse, an asshole. But the war has changed the way I look at things. I really am very sorry for all the bullying I did when we were young. I want to apologize singly." He said. "Pott- Harry, I am extremely sorry for all those harsh rumours I spread about you and about the fact that teased you about you not having parents. Weasle- Ginny, I am sorry for calling you and your family Blood Traitors and making fun of your names." He tilted his head towards them. "I hope you accept the apology because I really mean it." Draco looked at them but they seemed to have not yet recovered from the shock and have not yet processed what he had said. Ron however, had not bought anything. "Ron I am sorry for-" Draco started but was cut off by Ron saying, "Only my friends call me Ron, Malfoy, and the last time I checked, we weren't friends." Ron said angrily. Draco looked at him and sighed. "I understand, Ro- Weasley. Anyway, I wanted to apologize for making fun of your name and your family and your home." Draco said, hoping that the red-head would accept. But Ron kept his chin up, not accepting this apology. Draco looked at this and sighed. "I understand that you are hesitant about my apology. That's fine...I didn't really expect that any of you would actually accept. But it does feel good to get it off my chest." he admitted. Then he turned to the last occupant of the compartment and his face darkened. "And lastly, I would like to apologize to you Hermione, I -" he stopped mid-way as he felt Ron glare at him. Draco sighed again and said, "Sorry, I can't call you that..." He glanced at Ron and then continued, " I'm really sorry Granger. I am sorry for calling you Mudblood for six years and I am sorry for bullying you throughout your childhood." He said. Then his voice softened as he continued, "But I am most sorry for the time you were brought to Malfoy Manor and tortured by my crazy, murderous aunt Bellatrix Lestrange. I should have done something, anything. I should have stopped her, but no...I was too selfish to do what's right" Draco's voice was barely a whisper now. "I really am very very sorry. I know that you can possibly never forgive me, but I was hoping that you could give me a second chance." He said to all of them. Everyone was silent for the next 10 seconds. Draco cleared his throat. He looked at the others and then said, "Right... We will be leaving now..." He said uncomfortably. He and the other Slytherins turned to leave when Hermione suddenly said, "Wait!" The four Slytherins turned immediately, disbelief written all over their faces. Hermione got up and walked over to Draco and the others. "Say that you are sorry one last time" she whispered to Malfoy. "I can tell you a thousand more times Hermi- I mean Granger" he ammended. "I'm sorry" he said, looking into her soft caramel eyes. Hermione looked into those intense, stormy grey eyes, searching for a hint saying that he was lying. She couldn't find any hint. He was telling the truth. All of them were. She sighed deeply and said, "Well, looks like you are telling the truth. I believe you and forgive you. I hope that I am not making a mistake. Please do not let me down and make me regret this decision." she told them all. The four people were silent for a few seconds while they processed these words. Draco was the first to recover. He swallowed slightly, and said, "Thank you Hermio- I mean Granger. We won't make you regret this. I promise. Thank you again." Draco said, smiling. "I hope you won't. And please, call me Hermione" the brunette said, a small smile playing at her lips. "Only on one condition..." Draco said. Hermione raised one brow, asking, "And what is this condition" Draco smirked and said, "You have to call me Draco" The brunette smiled and said, "It's a deal" Draco offered his hand for a shake and Hermione shook it. Harry, Ginny and Ron were looking at her as if she were mad. "Well, we will be going now...we have many more people to apologise to." Pansy said, smiling. "Thanks again, Hermione" she said, before leaving. The other boys followed her out. She smiled at all the boys who went out, before returning to her seat. It was only then she noticed her best friends staring at her. "What?" She asked them. "Did you just become friends with Draco Malfoy and his gang?" Ginny asked, an incredulous look on her face. Hermione frowned at her best girlfriend and said "Look Gin, it's clear that they have changed for the better and that they are trying. After the war, peace is what we need and what better way to start of, than making peace with your arch - enemy of your child-hood?" Hermione told them, with a bright smile. "Yeah...but do you think that this is wise? I mean, he is still Malfoy..." Said Harry, uncertainly. Hermione rolled her eyes at Harry before saying, "Please...it's clear that he is changing...and it's not like I can't take care of myself. I survived a war for Christ's sake!" Hermione said. All this time, Ron had been extremely quite. He suddenly burst out saying, "He's a ferret Hermione! He's Death Eater scum! He has made you cry on several occasions! How can you just forget all that? Huh? And you seriously asked him to call you Hermione? And you also shook hands with the prat! I mean seriously!" Ron said angrily. Hermione narrowed her eyes. "Ronald Bilius Weasley! How dare you? Not everyone is perfect! Everyone makes mistakes and makes bad choices! I remember thousands of your mistakes and bad choices Ron! I also remember you making me cry on several occasions. What matters is that you are willing to change and learn from those mistakes, and clearly Draco is doing just that. And so is Pansy and Blaise and Theo. So please get you head out of your arrogant arse" Hermione said angrily. Ron was shocked by this outburst. He shook his head and sat down, muttering under his breath. "And do you two have any other problems with my friendship with the Slytherins?" She asked the couple in front of her. Harry and Ginny gulped and shook their heads. "Good!" Hermione said, flopping down yet again on the seat and pulled out Hogwarts - A History. They were silent for the rest of the way.
Once they reached, Hermione and the others got of the train and headed to the carts. Now, she also could see the Thestrals pulling the cart. Almost every one could see them, as they had all seen deaths, except maybe a few of the new first-years. They all got a seat and rode to Hogwarts.
