Chapter 10 - Half Dead

I woke up in a dark room. I couldn't see anything. I tried to move, but I was frozen in place when I heard a disturbing, shuffling/munching sound behind me.

I turn around and see Sonic.EXE, feeding on what looked like- a human heart???

I screamed in horror as I begin to run to apparrently no where and when I looked back, Sonic.EXE wasn't there anymore.

I turn back around and find him standing in front of me with an evil smile. "Ready for round 2?" Then everything blacked out.

Sonic's POV
After everything that happened last night, we made it home safely.

But I had to carry Amy out of the car cause she was asleep and her sister explained to me that waking her up would be a big mistake cause Amy has incredible reflexes.

So I carried her up to her room and waited patiently for her to wake up in her desk chair beside her bed.

But I began to worry when I noticed her sweating. I didn't care what type of injury I get from her reflexes, so I try hard to wake her up but she started screaming and squirming around a lot and the lights in her room were flickering on and off.

I got worried and began to get the others out of their rooms. "GUYS! SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH AMY!" I yelled to my crew members.

Averie came rushing out of her room first though. "WHAT HAPPENED?" She screamed worriedly.

Me and her rushed down to Amy's room and she was still screaming, squirming, and sweating and the lights were still flickering violently.

Then Tails finally came rushing in with his aid kit. "What's going on!?" He asked urgently.

"SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH AMY!" I yelled worriedly as me and Averie tried desperately to calm her down.

Then Tails began to understand the situation. "HOLD HER DOWN!" Tails ordered me and Averie as he began to scroll through his aid kit.

Once me and Averie held panicky Amy down, Tails pulled out his syringe and stuck it in Amy's arm.

Once he put it in there for a few seconds, Amy stopped squirming and screaming and stood completely still, quiet,and the lights stopped flickering on and off.

I didn't hear her breathing and her chest wasn't moving up and down so I began to grow worried. "TAILS!? WHAT DID YOU DO!?"

Tails replied,"I had to calm her down. She's alive, don't worry." Tails explained.

I calmed down a little and Averie began to cry. "W- why! Why is this happening to my sister! Why her! She's so innocent and successful! How could this happen to her! Why is this happening to her!?" She cried.

I walked over to Averie and tried to calm her down. "Averie, relax... I know what's wrong with Amy." I told her.

Averie looked at me in anger. "IT'S YOU! EVER SINCE YOU GOT HERE- AMY HAS BEEN HAVING THESE PROBLEMS! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" She shouted at me.

The words hurt like she threw a bunch of blades at me but I ignored the feeling.

"It's not me! She's having these problems because your sister is the one who touched a possessed diamond which gave her powers, along with Sonic.EXE corrupting her mind in the mix! I'm trying to help her!" I snap back as I began to cry as well.

Averie looked at me in shock. "S- Sonic.EXE? I- I thought he was... Dead." She stuttered.

"Apparently, he's not." I muttered, looking down at the floor.

Everybody else finally came rushing into Amy's room to see what's wrong but we pushed them out because Amy was -maybe was- ok now.

Me and Averie went downstairs and watches TV to try and get our minds off of Amy.

As we were watching Rick and Morty, I decided to spark a conversation.

"Y'know, Amy looks a lot like you." I told her. She looked at me for a second and paused the TV.

She sat in silence for a few seconds and then began to speak. "Yeah, she does... If only you saw my mother." She signed sadly.

Memories began to flood my brain when I thought about the time Any told me about her mom. I signed sadly at the memory.

She was crying and she came into my arms because it was a depressing topic to talk about for her, but she managed to open up to me and I was proud of her for that.

I shook off the memory later when Averie spoke some more. "I can only remember my mother's voice, her beautiful face, her laugh... Oh, her sweet laugh. I miss her so much. It's hard for both me and Amy." She said.

"I understand. My mother was killed in a war between Dark Giaia and her kingdom. I managed to escape because my father rescued me and took me to a village... Which is now my home in Mobius." I explained to her.

Averie looked at me sadly and smiled a little. "I guess you, me, and Amy have something in common then." She chuckled out sadly.

I nodded. "Yeah... I guess." I responded.

There was a long silence until Averie spoke up. "Y'know... My sister used to talk a lot about you when she first came here.

She told about how much she loved you and that she missed you and her friends. It seemed like she was really into you. What did you do to mess that up?" Averie asked me softly.

I froze. "I- I... I was supposed to take her out on a date but I ditched her for Sally and I knew from that moment forward on when I saw her peeping from Sally's window, that I- I made a terrible mistake." I told her and I began to cry.

Averie stared at me with wide eyes. "H*** yeah, you definitely messed that up my dude." She told me while looking away from me.

"But in the end, you came looking and searching for her- Just so you can apologize to her and be there for her when she needed you the most. My sister does care about you. She may not show it but she cares about all of you." Averie said, gesturing towards the whole team.

"How do you know?" I asked while wiping my tears away. "Because she told me herself." She said while smiling innocently.

I don't know why, but that hit me deeply. I began to cry again as Averie hugged me gently, trying to make me feel better.

Once I finished getting snot and tears all over her shoulder, I thanked her.

"T- thanks... I- Sorry about the um... M-mess." I said, pointing to her shoulder.

She shrugged it off. "Just go wipe your face and stuff while I go get a new shirt." She said as she got up from the couch and went upstairs to her room to change.

I went to the bathroom and washed my face off, then I decided to go check up on Amy.

She was sleeping peacefully now. I hope... I'm not sure what's going on inside her sleeping mind now, but I pray its nothing bad...
