The buses had finally arrived to take the crew to the next city which was only a few hours away. It was chaos trying to make sure everyone was loaded and that all bags and crewmates were accounted for. You checked the first bus to make sure the dancers were all good, and then made your way over to the first bus where Jay and the guys were loaded up. To your dismay, Trina was sitting taking selfies with Jay.
You leaned over to the driver of the bus- "Alright, everyone is here. You can take off as soon as I leave." All eyes and heads on the bus turned to you with a look of confusion written all over their faces.
"As soon as you...leave?" Gray was the first to speak, scoffing at the serious and straight look on your face.
"Yeah, um, I'm not coming." You admitted, pulling at the sleeves of your shirt trying to hid the anxiousness building up from everyone looking at you. Your eyes darted around the bus trying to find an easy escape.
"Are you taking the other bus?" Loco chimed in. You shook your head. Jay sat up and leaned forward with his eyes focused on trying to read your face. You knew they were all waiting for an explanation from you, and you figured there was no point in making them wait any longer.
"I have a job interview. Today, actually. Since Trina quit at the radio station, I, uh- decided that I kind of like this city and want to...stay." You attempted to make eye contact with Dom, but he was no help. All he could do was shake his head at your pretending everything was fine when it really wasn't. Jay's head dropped to look at the carpet, and he began massaging his forehead with his fingers.
There was a feeling of shock and silence in the bus. No one knew what to say. Even you.
"Anyway, um, I guess I better get going. Don't want to be late. First impressions are everything." You gave a forced smile with no one returning the gesture.
"So, I guess professionalism just goes out the window when you're working for a friend." Jay finally managed to say something to you.
"What?" You questioned, turning your ear more his direction to make sure you had heard him correctly.
"You heard what I said, Y/N. 'I guess professionalism goes out the window when you're working for a friend.' I didn't stutter." Jay's face was more serious than you had ever seen before. He was always so chill and unbothered that when he did get mad, everyone knew to steer clear.
"Oh, I heard you, I'm just trying to figure out who the hell you're talking to." You placed both hands on your hips, and kept your sights on him.
"Last time I checked, I was talking to you." He met your same fierce gaze showing no signs of backing off. "I mean, the least you could do was give a two weeks notice."
"Hm. Maybe you should give your little girlfriend that same advice, Jay. Apparently she walked out on her job too. I don't see you scolding her like you're trying to do to me." Clearly Jay wanted a fight, and you had come prepared. But where was this coming from? You foolishly thought that he might be sad at you leaving, but this was a reaction you weren't expecting in a million years.
"Her job doesn't affect my business. You casually leaving like it's nothing during a tour is selfish and shitty. I expected better from you, Y/N. But, I guess I'll just have to make some employment changes around here too..." Jay leaned back on the small tour bus couch and put his arm around Trina's shoulders. He kept his eyes on you as he spoke-
"Guys, I'd like you to meet my new assistant....Trina." Trina's eyes widened as she frantically scanned the tense bus.
"This is so du-" Gray tried to speak up before you swiftly cut him off.
