CHAPTER 1: THE MANDALORIAN◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈
Neytiri glowered at the dim planet and it's filthy houses, streets infested with scum and criminals. Grey seemed to permeate the whole place, sucking in the light endlessly, as a stench seemed to ooze from the ground itself. The Na'vi woman's flat nose scrunched up before she breathed out sharply. Her lips pulled back into a snarl when a stranger wandered too close, fangs bared, before her long legs easily brought her stride to match the Mandalorians. Her shoulders were pushed back, head held high, with her hands pushed into the depths of her coat pockets. She could fell loose trinkets brush her fingers.
"I hate this place" She hissed, ears flat against the side of her head. The polished wooden beads at the end of many of her small braids glinted like the mans beskar while the feathers secured beside her right ear fluttered in the dry humid breeze.
"Well you won't be here for long" Mandos voice was low and staticky as it echoed through the modulator "when we get payed ,you'll have enough to pay for transport off this rock"
"If we get payed" The Na'vi corrected. Her yellow eyes, wide and cat like, tracked across the flat roofs of the houses for movement before they focused in front of her. Her tall figure towered over most of the crowd while her tail swayed absently. Many eyed the odd pair, the weapons strapped to their backs and their gear that seemed like it was worth a pretty price, but didn't dare to take a step closer then necessary.
"If" He sighed in agreement.
"Things have been slow Mando, you know this. Ever since the Empire fell people have been tossing the credits away like they don't still spend."
"It's Imperial" The man grumbled lowly, T shaped visor now directed to her. His eyes flickered over her relaxed form, an annoying reminder forming in his mind that she was taller, before he looked away. The Na'vi woman's morals weren't loose, per say, but she was much more ready to accept the credits then he was.
"Money is money" She hissed "I'll take what I can get. No point in being picky at a time like this"
The pair lapsed in a silence, not awkward but still tense, as they continued their trek to the cantina. Neytiri led the way, longer legs carrying her further, with the Mandalorian trailing on her heels carefully. He stood mostly in her shadow, letting the eyes of the public focus on her much more eye catching appearance while he blended in with the crowd best he could. He was by no means shy but caution was what had kept him alive so long. Cautious over everything and everyone, including Neytiri. They were not friends but, over the years, they had formers an almost symbiotic relationship with strong boundaries set for and by the other. They kept each other at a respective distance but it worked. They were comfortable with their way.
