Part 4: The Babysitting

"So this is where you live? I still don't get how we've never noticed each other before." Yamaguchi says to you.
"Yep. I don't get it either." You both laugh and chat all the way home and you see your dad's car leave the driveway. Before you even walk into your house you can hear your little sister.

"So make sure you don't let her eat the that-" your mum started talking to you but stops herself.
"Y/N! You never told me you had a boyfriend!" She shouts excitedly.
"Mum-"
"So how long have you been together? Have you met his parents yet? HAVE YOU HAD YOUR FIRST KIS-"
"MUM! We're just friends!" You yell at your mum, look at yamaguchi and mouth the words 'sorry' to him. He just giggles.

"Anyway. So as you know me and Jase are going out. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. Make sure you look after your sister-"
"I'll be fine mum. Don't worry!"
She kisses you on the forehead then heads out with Jason.

"Sorry about her. She's... weird..."
You apologise to yamaguchi.
"Trust me. It's fine. My mums the exact sam-"
Yamaguchi gets cut off by your screaming, 2 year-old sister.
"Calm down." You pick her up and she starts crying.
"Please. Hand her here! I'm quite good with kids!" Yamaguchi says.
"You sure?" You reply.
"Yep." He smiles, and then you hand her over to him. Immediately, she falls asleep in his arms.
"I- how?" You're shocked.
"I told you I'm good with kids."
He whispers.

After putting her to bed, you go back downstairs.
"So what should we do?" Yamaguchi asks you.
"Hmm. Maybe we should watch a movie."
You reply, then start searching through Netflix for a movie.
"Hmm.. maybe the latest [insert horror movie] movie?" You ask, hesitantly.
"Sure." Yamaguchi smiles.
You start the movie then suddenly remember something.
"The popcorn!"
Quickly, you run to get some popcorn then come back, turn off the lights and grab a blanket.

After a few minutes, both you and Yams are a bit creeped out.
"Y-you o-okay?" He asks you.
"Y-yeah I-I'm fine..." you reply.
All of a sudden, there is a massive jump scare and you suddenly jump and latch onto Yamaguchi. You can hear his heart beating quickly. After opening your eyes, you both stare into each other's eyes for a few minutes.

Unfortunately, you get interrupted by your sister through the baby monitor.
"I'll go get her." Yamaguchi says to you, then leaves upstairs. You pause the movie.

After a while, he comes back downstairs.
"S-She took a while this time to get to sleep this time." He tells you.
He sits back onto the couch. You both start to look into each other's again. Your faces grow closer. You were about to kiss when your mother and her boyfriend came back in, loudly - she'd been drinking again.

"You came back early?"
"Yes. Who knew that the restaurant just shuts at 8 o'clock! After it shut we went to the pub. We may have gotten kicked out.."
"Mum!" You say to her.

*ring ring*
Yamaguchi's phone starts ringing.
He leaves the room.
After a few minutes he comes back in.
"Sorry, that was my mum. I have to go now. S-see you at school." He smiles and tells you.
"B-bye Yams..!" you shout to him, then he leaves.

Yamaguchi's POV:

Wow. Did we nearly kiss in there? Do I like her?! I have to tell Tsukki about this!

Yam and Tsukki's texts:

Hey, Tsukki? You up?

WHAT?

Gomen Tsukki! But it's really important!

Go on then. If it's that important!

So you know Y/n?

Yeah. What about her?

Well I went round her house to help her babysit

Wait you went round her house?!

Yes anyways we kinda almost kissed.

WHAT?! 😱
You hardly know her!!!

Well, we've been texting for over a year but we just didn't know each other irl

Wait I swear you live really close

Well we never realised. Anyway idk what to do or say tomorrow? Help!

Well. If I were you I'd just ask her out to dinner!

Tsukki I'm not as brave as you though.
