Verica and I make our way out of the house with no trouble. The mist and fog that forced my on my way to the house is gone and vanished. Even though its mid day the clouds rend the light into mostly just shadow.
"Where are you going to go now? I have to find a fortune teller but... I have no idea where to start."
Verica lays a hand on my arm and smiles.
"I think I will stick with you. I know who you probably speak of and she is on the way to my destination. "
A small smile graces my lips as I allow her to somewhat lead the way. At the first night of travel I have a dream. Not uncommon but for me and what I am it could be considered... less a dream and more a... talk. There is a presence in my head. A shadow behind me. When my eyes open in the dream im alone in a hellish landscape. Bubbling goop and horrendous hills that seem to have a thousand eyes looking at you. Lakes of bone and meat filled goop and sludge.
I am, as always in these dreams, atop a pyramid. Sitting just in front of a giant throne. Thousands of skittering screeching untelling horrors writh and rage and riot below me. They never come onto the steps. I dont hear a voice but know one is speaking. I can't understand it but I know its addressing me.
Im jolted awake by verica.
"You were shaking and sweating. And... oh... your eyes... uhm... d..are you ok?"
When she holds up a small mirror i see my eyes now have a yellow glow to them around the outside. A ring of pale sickly yellow. I know things I didn't before and know I have been given a small gift from my pact master. A glance in my direction. I sit up and weave the new power into being. Eager as always at new things.
A small greenish yellow snake like creature is formed in my hands. It slithers onto my lap before its four legs and two wings unfurl from its body. Its tiny and very much different with its tail compared to larger sorts. A pseudodragon lay in my lap. Verica just watches surprised before nodding slowly at the realization that she woke me from an important dream. A quick apology and forgiving smile and we're both back asleep a new friend helping keep watch.
