Verica holds my arm as we decend floor after floor. The darkness lending no problem to me but I could tell verica was having issues.

"Do you have any torches? I can see in the dark so its no issue... "

As I look around i see a set of unlit lanterns. Waving my hand, just before she speaks, the lanterns blaze to life. Light slowly fills the basement.

"Well... I don't have any torches no... but... it doesn't appear to be needed anymore"

I smile at the hidden praise. As we look around the basement floor we find that its less a basement and more a whole crypt. One if the first things we find are Graves for the family. I quickly check and find the two children's graves. I set their bones in their spot and verica says a prayer. I sigh and we make our way around the dusty crypt. A second stair leads even farther down.

A watery chamber with an alter in the center. As soon as all of us enter ghostly forms surround us. Chanting to sacrifice. I inspect the alter and as I do I am spun around and axe has his sword drawn. I narrowly avoid the swing and notice his eyes. Him and his partner both have blood shot eyes and their pupils are gone. Verica screams and I dodge a second strike. Grabbing axe I swing him into his partners sword swing, piercing him through the chest. He falls directly onto the altar. My eldritch energy lances out and shatters my second assailant. Heavy breaths as I take a moment to see if im ok.

Verica looks at them both then me.

"I...im not... uh... d...dont..."

I raise my hands slowly.

"Its ok... im not going to do anything. You didn't attack me... I don't know what happened."

She just looks at them wearily for a moment before the voices from around us speak again.

"The gods are pleased"

Both verica and I look at each other wondering. The hole spirit of the house and dungeon/crypt feels... appeased.
