"Life imposes things on you that you can't control, but you still have the choice of how you're going to live through this." — Celine Dion

Remorseful. Guilty.
That's how Vihaan felt at that very moment. He wished he could go back in time and take his words back, rectify his mistakes — the worst he had done. However, he could not. He had to live with it. Remorse etched his heart. Guilt gnawed like a worm. All those memories of him badmouthing her flooded his mind.
Someone has said very rightly, 'Never judge a book by its cover'. Here, Vihaan had drawn a complete theory about her without even knowing her. Now, his actions needed to showcase if he was sorry for anything. He wasn't the one who would say 'sorry' to apologise. He had abandoned that word long back as it was of no use. His temper was a sword he had fashioned because he was so sick of getting stabbed. Hence, an apology never came his way.
He took long strides and stood in front of the door of his room, anticipating whether to go inside or not. It had barely been a day, and he wasn't ready to handle so much revelation. Holding the doorknob tightly and turning it with a soft click, he entered the room and saw her sitting on her couch, reading something and sipping the coffee he had sent for her.
He stood in front of her until her gaze shifted towards him. She immediately stood up, startled by his presence.
"What happened?" she asked. Her voice was shaky as she was trying to control her rapid heartbeat.
"Nothing," he replied and headed towards his bed.
"Listen!" she called him out.
Vihaan turned towards her, "Yes?" he asked.
"Thank you!"
"For?"
"For the coffee." Akanksha raised the mug to show him.
Vihaan observed her with the gaze of a stranger, that aloof judgment with no strings. He had already formed an opinion of her, even before they met each other. He wasn't ready to shrug that impression off. It was difficult, and he knew it. He didn't know where the future led them. Perhaps his opinion on her might change.
