We got to a gothic-looking building surrounded by a gate named 'St. Bernards Boarding school and parked behind the only other car. She soon came out and we quickly ducked behind the seats until she left so we could get out. Soon after we began talking a pizza delivery car with a pig mascot came, "You kids know where Philip McNutly's office is ?" I felt kinda stressed since this wasn't an emergency for me to skip class, especially with him being in town today and this time with people I didn't fully trust. I walked farther away and took out my cigarettes not caring anymore, I was far from home and my mom. "Hi, baby." I said jokingly and lit it up. Taking the first drag brought instant relief and helped me breathe better ironically.

"Aphrodite, you'll be the delivery person." I had no clue what they meant so I turned around and saw them staring at me like I was out of my mind. My eyes widen and I pretend to cough like a first-timer. I may have exaggerated a little. "Wow, this is why I don't smoke haha" I faked a smile while saying it. "You're a terrible liar," Hawk said while glaring at me. They handed me the pizza and told me they planted shrooms on the pizza which reminded me of the spilling pills on the pizza at home. I asked why neither of them couldn't do it since they were his friends but they all made excuses like I'm an atheist and God makes me feel uncomfortable which made me laugh in annoyance. Fucking church schools always give me a major anxiety attack and flashbacks.

I walked inside, greeted the nun, and walked toward the father's office on autopilot. My brain detached itself from my body making me walk aimlessly.  "You ordered a pizza?" I said entering the room. "What's the damage, young lady?" I handed him the pizza. "15 even." He spared me a glance but didn't say anything. Probably because of my monotone voice and fidgeting hands or the high price. As he was opening the donation box I leaned down towards Jeremiah. "If he offers you a slice, you're not the least bit hungry." I turned my head to look at him but he was already looking at me and gave me a small smile. A blush crept onto my cheeks.

"Fifteen dollars and I'm donating your tip to the church. The lord thanks you." He said signaling my departure. "Tell the big guy not to mention it." I responded walking away. I stuffed a 5 in my bra and gave the other ten to Hawk. I stood outside along with the guys as Hawk complained about how we would know if the shroom was gonna work. "It usually takes 10 minutes to an hour. It all depends, you know." I said squinting to shield my eyes from the sun. Hawk glared at me again making me gulp. Soon laughing was heard in the building we walked inside but the nun tried stopping us.

Continuing my act unconsciously I bowed and said sorry to the sister. Hawk walked inside asking to take Jeremiah as the father was still tripping. He laughed and looked at me. "What a fine woman you are. Those legs God gave you really blessed you, young lady." The nun gasped. "Father, don't say such things nonetheless to a young girl." I soon grew uncomfortable and the boys could see.

Jeremiah pulled me towards him as we walked out and kept me in front of him out of the father's sight as we continued to walk out of the building. "I know that made you uncomfortable, sorry they made you walk in and do that," Jeremiah whispered once we were inside the car and Hawk peeled out of the parking lot. I smiled at him, "It's okay, you didn't know what he was gonna do or say. Church schools already give me the heebie jeebies."

I sat in the back between Jeremiah and Lex as they sang and talked about Hawk's stage fright until we pulled up to my house. I got out and quickly ran inside while Jeremiah did the same but in his house. I changed into my nightclothes which were Black shoes, shorts, a cropped band t-shirt, and a zip-up jacket. I put in all my piercings and got my to-go bag. I walked out while putting my hair up into a ponytail. The boys stared at me as I got back in the car. Trip wolf-whistled which made Lex hit him so I laughed in response. I began doing my makeup not seeing how the guys stared at me. I gave myself a natural look that still looks like a little much.

"Our journey continues ladies, soon we'll see KISS in Detroit playing Detroit Rock City." Trip said headbanging. We were on the road as they turned the radio on. Paranoid by Black Sabbath played. I saw Hawk reach to skip it. "Hey, that's my favorite. Leave it." I said wanting to hear my favorite song. "Okay, Miss. Goodie two-shoes what's your story? You manage to sneak us out almost perfectly, you smoke, you have poked holes all over your face and tongue, and you play a guitar." Hawk asked, trying to figure me out and judging me at the same time. I laughed at the last part.

"Okay okay, I used to be a 'troubled kid' and would just have fun and smoke but my mom finally realized how out of control I was getting, I admit it but my mom got stricter so I pierced, tatted, and wore what I wanted to piss her off until it got too much. It got me sent to a church reform school almost similar to the one Jeremiah was sent to. I met some friends there who were in similar situations as me. We met up once in a while." I played with my rings and bracelets.

"We are in a band, I guess. I was sneaking out yesterday but someone caught me and I was glad it was Jeremiah cause the amount of trouble I would have been in would be crappy. Also, I know you guys have my picture, weirdos." I explained staring at Jeremiah. He sheepishly handed the picture back that was tucked away in his wallet.

"So when can we hear this band?" Lex asked. I smiled and pulled out the cassette from my bag. "I'm warning you now, that we aren't professionals and we do this for fun. It probably won't be as good as yours. It's a cover of Detroit Rock City." I handed it to Trip who carefully put it in the player. The song began and we were singing our hearts out until it was time for Ace's guitar solo I attempted.

"Shit! Was that you?" Lex exclaimed. I laughed saying yes. Soon my voice harmonized with Dex's was heard throughout the car. "Wow! Vocals too? You're amazing!" Jeremiah said making me blush a bit more. I cringed when I tried recreating Paul Stanley's vocals. But they seemed to love it. The song ended and they gave me back the tape.

A car behind us full of 'Stellas and Guidos' as the boys said, was behind us on a two-way highway honking. I opened a pizza box getting a slice until Trip took the last one. I glared in response but smiled when he was gonna take a bite and the cheese flopped onto his pants. "Trip, throw that shit out the car it might stain."  Lex yelled at him. Obeying his orders Trip threw it which only succeded in it landed straight on the windshield of the car behind us. I looked back seeing the driver swerve a little, "Shit."
