Off Course: Log 1

The sirens blared at two AM.  The AGT-759 was reported to have gone off course.  The issue could not be fixed.  The ship's main controls had been over written.  No one had the solution.  Continually, the ship now heads into the direction of uncharted galaxies and planets.  The only hope is to find the traitor that has taken over the ship.  After all, it has been proven that the ship was hacked from the inside.

"Are we certain it's not a glitch?"  Ushaya asked.

Aiden shrugged, probably trying to lessen the tension that was beginning to build between the crew.  "If it was a glitch, I could have easily overridden the codes and blah, blah, blah.  Easy as cake."

"You say it like this is a good thing," she grumbled.

"Nah, it just means I did my job right, which is certainly a bright side, but, if you really want me to be the doom and gloom, this all means someone has taken over our ship from the inside with actual controls," Aiden answered.

"Please, this is an urgent meeting don't just brush the situation off like it's nothing," Captain Colby Lemon, the pilot of the ship, scolded.

Aiden didn't looked fazed by the man sitting across the table from him, despite that the man was much larger and looked like he spends all his free time in gym.  "But you make it sound like the end of the world, sir.  If we let the tension build, it may cloud our heads and our decisions are not at best."

"The boy is right, Captain."  Marana Rouge, the Co-pilot, looked at the man.  "Although I agree that we should not play this down, but he is right that we can't let this issue get to our heads.  We must remain calm and levelheaded, not get worked up over this.  Once we find the cause of the problem, then we will easily be able to fix the problem.  We still have more than enough fuel to get the ship back with the rest of the fleet."

"Uh, Captain, I have more news," Bob Pines began as he took off his headphones.  "We just lost all our communication with any outside sources.  We can't contact the fleet or anyone else."

"Curse this blasted place!"  Carson Lapis muttered under his breath.  "What next?  We lose the electricity or oxygen?"

"Don't jinx it!"  Dylan panicked.

"Yes, please focus on the issues at hand and not on the issues that could be," Marana said sternly.  "There is no cause for panic."

"Sorry..." Dylan, the youngest of all of them, looked down at his hands.  Carson merely huffed.

Jessie Jade, otherwise known as JJ set a hand on Dylan's shoulder.  He offered the fifteen year old a reassuring smile and Dylan returned it with a weak and shaky one.  It was a smile all the same.

Lynda Violet closed her eyes in thought.  "I may not be too good with tech, but I do know people.  Sitting here talking about this continually down a path that leads to nowhere, well, I'm ninety-nine percent sure that we aren't going to get a confession.  Unless you have a solution, more bad news, or good news, this isn't helping us."

Anita Scarlett nodded with agreement.  "This is all just crazy.  We should continue our tasks as usual and just keep an eye out for now."

The captain sighed.  "Very well," he muttered.  "Anything suspicious, report to me, but you should continue your duties.  Dismissed."

Ushaya stood up, picking up her tablet.  She her work in the med bay to finish.  The meeting had called her away while she was in the middle of her task.  Sighing, she made her way back to work.   A cold feeling ran up her back, but she shook it off.  She was just getting nervous over nothing.  After all, there was no immediate danger.  So why did she had the feeling that things were going to go down for the worst?
