A/N : Okay so I have a bad habit of starting a new thing without finishing the previous one. But heh, that's called artistic temperament.
Currently I'm in a Seokjin phase (I have four BTS biases - Namjoon, Jungkook, Seokjin and Hoseok) so voila!!!!
Also please be warned that I know literally nothing about hacking or cyber security. So please please don't focus on the technical aspects and just read the story for the sake of the characters' relationships. You can easily imagine Ira to be someone else, with a different job, or anything you like.
I just figured that since my Hobi fic already has the OC as a designer, I couldn't use an Arts career again (although I would've very much liked to).But oh the sacrifices I make to meet my own over-the-top expectations!!
But oh well, happy reading :):):):):)
Chapter Summary - Or the one where she's a one-time consultant hired by his company.
March, 2017
Seokjin was mad.
Well, maybe mad wasn't the correct word for it. But he was definitely annoyed, and anxious, and frustrated. So yeah, 'mad' was a pretty adequate comparison.
In simple words, there had been a leak.
Nothing major, nothing scandalous. But an entire folder of unfinished tracks had been erased from the company's archives. Tracks which had been created by Namjoon and had been stored into a pen drive.
The company had finally plugged them into the system for evaluation, and after 6 days, one of the producers opened the folder to find it empty. Gone.
Of course Namjoon still had a backup copy, but that wasn't the primary concern.
The concern was that their security had been compromised. If someone could get into one of the company's computers and erase an entire folder of music, they could get into any device they chose.
And those would definitely result in a scandal. And thus serve as blackmail material.
So the company had decided to hire an expert, and had contacted a renowned cyber security firm which had a branch in Seoul. They had said that they had someone who would definitely be able to solve the problem for them. And the company had agreed to meet the person, expecting them to be an experienced expert.
What they hadn't expected, was that they were going to meet an intern. A 24 year old intern. Who was still getting their final degree. Well, getting a Ph.D, but they were still in school. How on earth would they be able to handle the security of an entire entertainment company?
And, he knew he was being a hypocrite. Jeongguk was a full-fledged idol and he was only 19. He knew that you can't judge someone's capabilities based on their age. But he had to admit that he was skeptical.
Not to mention that hearing of a cyber security doctorate student made his heart squeeze painfully in his chest. It reminded him of a person he once knew, who dreamt of studying computers, who could understand complicated codes at a single glance, who lived and breathed technology. Who had been accepted into the best cuber security program that SNU offered. His childhood best friend, his rock, his soulmate.
