Spread out across a raised concrete stand was a pattern made of light. It was like a glowing circle in the center with long vein-like lines of light spreading outwards, down the edge of the stand and onto the floor, the end of each vein connecting with a cell. If I just touch a certain panel in the floor, it should, hopefully turn off the light to the elfin boy's cell and raise the bars. There was a ring of red bricks encircling the podium, which I guess was the activation bricks.
Wow. Where did all this logical and intelligent stuff come from? I wish I could remember my old life. It was frustrating.
Anyway, I avoided those bricks until I could figure out the lock. That was until, of course, my sword slid out my hand, and hit a brick. The vein of light connected to that brick slowly shut off, bit by bit. It led to an empty cell, thank goodness, and raised the bar.
I now used this piece of knowledge to find the boy's brick and unlock his cell. I tapped it.
Nothing happened for a brief moment, then, the vein of light leading to his prison began to close off. His bar raised and I hurried down and into his cell to rescue him.
I called to him,
'Hey, um elfin boy, come here. You look like your starving. I have berries!'
At the mention of food he jumped up and hurried to me. As soon as he could see me properly, and was roughly 3 meters away, he promptly collapsed. I grabbed his arms, and began to attempt at lifting him. He was too heavy. I tried again, and this time a figure appeared at his feet, scoping them up and helping me to lean him up against the podium. When we set him down and we were sitting on the actual podium, I spoke again.
"Unconscious boys really heavy" I said. "What's your name by the way?"
"Jeez man, they are. The name is Arocraes Zanelor, I'm a half-elf" Arocraes said.
"Hi ! My name is Fiona Silas and I'm an Elf. Do you know who this kid is? I feel as if I've seen him before" I said.
